Angry Rubber seals falling off, already?

I've been happily driving my new 07 G35 for the past 3 weeks now. Yesterday, the rubber fan on the side of the sunroof fell off. I could easily click it back on, and I figured, oh well, maybe that one just wasn't fastened properly.

Then today, the rubber seal on the back passenger door fell off, too. Again, I can click and fasten it back into place.

Has anyone else encountered similar problems? This seems really quite unacceptable. After all, I got an Infiniti and not a VW. Before this car, I had a 10 year-old Maxima with 160k miles on it, and never had things like this happen. This annoys me.

Maybe they were not installed correctly? If it happens again, I would take it back.

I wouldn't be impressed either. If the problem persists, I would definitely take it back to the dealer.

my rubber stub has fallen off too. I just stick it back on. I've thought of brining it to the attention of the dealer, but I don't want them to think i'm too ****...

I'm thinking of just using glue, what do you guys think?

I don't think you are being too **** at all......I wouldn't hesitate for a second to bring it into the dealer. The car is under warranty, let the dealer fix the problem. Just my .02 cents.

Same here... It did not seem glued on, just held on with a flange. I pressed it back on. It has not come off since.

Take it back to the dealer. Even if its a minor defect that you can possibly fix, you should still let the dealer know so they can address the problem and do it right....hopefully

What is the rubber fan? Are you talking about the color keyed trim piece that goes around the sunroof? If it's the same as the '05, that's not glued, just pops into place. Now, if you're talking about the windscreen mechanism, now that's another story.

It's an accordion shaped edging that covers the right and left edges of the sunroof glass. Not sure exactly what it's purpose is other than to keep you from seeing some of the mechanics inside the headliner. It's not intended to
fold up as the sunroof retracts.

It's not really attached by anything other than a 'U' shaped channel in the rubber that is pressed on to the edge of the metal frame that holds the sunroof glass.

I noticed mine was lose when I put the sunroof back the 1st time. The edging (which is probably 2 inches wide) which was loose and started getting crumpled up as the sunroof retracted.

Am kinda of suprized to see such a poor design on something like this that could easily jam the sunroof mechanism. If 2 or 3 people on this board have already had problems with this, then surely it had to have shown up at some point during the year the car was being developed and tested?

Take the car into the dealer and ask them to fix those problems and do a proper PDI that you paid for.

Funny you mention that, for the G35 that I was testing out has the same issue, but it might just be a press-fit and snap back-on as Tom mentioned.

To all 07 G owners. As many already stated, take the car to the dealer and have them fix it. Raining season is coming up and you do not want water getting into your car. I hope someone from Infiniti is reading this and take proper action.
