People need to just buy the package(s) that fits your needs/wants/budget. I just can't stand general statements like that.
+1 on that. As well some people consider these options for future resale value and desirability too.

ROTFLMAO. Thanks for the laugh. I was thinking along those lines as I read the post but couldn't summarize it as succinctly as you just did.

If we're going to talk about need, do any of us really NEED a new $35K luxury sedan. Of course not. It's all about WANTING these extra amenities. For me, it was definitely worth it because I wanted the luxury of telescoping steering wheel, premium sound system, memory seats...etc

I was leaning towards not getting the PP as well as I thought I woudln't really need all the features. But then I realized that PP comes with sunroof which is a $1k option. Have you seen a G without a sunroof???? I haven't. It's pretty much a mandatory option. So really the PP is only $1k and for that it was worth it for me (especially the SOW).

Must haves for me, I like them all. And I second the resale opinion.

I bought the car strictly for the performance....and trading up from a WRX it is a huge upgrade in luxury as it sits. The X already comes with heated seats/mirrors, which was the only extra we "needed". I did get a sunroof, which was another ~$1,000. So at the time it made sense. But now I wish I had the premium package. The car is such a hoot to drive, but the other extras do seem worth it now. This our first luxury car....this mistake won't be made again.

I don't know if any of you '07 owners had the same experience or not but BEFORE I was able to figure out how to set the seat & outside mirror memory, the first few times I got into the G I had to reset those dang mirrors every time for they would go back to factory default settings (instead of staying where you left them @ like my other car) when the ignition switches off. Imagine without the memory feature? I would definitely bring the car back for a refund.

Also can you imagine running all those features without the OSD showing on the LCD screen & IF that only comes with premium pkg then it's a must have to me as well.
