Anyone not get the Premium Package?

Just wondering and if so, what was your reasoning. I'm thinking that I don't want the Bose (and won't pay up for the NAV) and don't need to drop 2K for heated seats, etc.

Thanks in advance for your responses

Okay, sorry, I know you asked the opposite question but maybe this will help. I GOT the premium package because of:
  • Sunroof
  • Memory seat / wheel so when my wife drives my car, it gets back to MY settings!
  • Bluetooth phone is pretty useful
  • I'm used to Homelink, can't do without it

And I didn't hate the idea of a nice-sounding stereo and heated seats . Good luck!

If I get a 2007 G, I won't be getting the premium package. Here's why:

# Power sliding tinted glass sunroof: I don't use the one on my current car

# - Infiniti Studio on Wheels™: I thought the stock system in my old Accord was pretty good, so I doubt I'd appreciate this anyway.

# - Heated front seats: I'd REALLY want these, but they are not worth $2K+

# - 2-way power driver’s seat lumbar support: I believe the base car has manual lumbar?

# - Memory system for driver’s seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors: Nobody drives my car but me.

# - Driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirror position synchronization: I've had five cars without this, so I think I'll survive.

# - One-touch auto-up/down rear windows with safety auto-reverse feature: I simply don't care one way or another about this option.

# - Power tilt and telescoping steering column: I don't mind the manual tilt and telescope on the base car.

# - Automatic anti-glare rearview mirror with HomeLink® Universal Transceiver and compass: I don't have a garage, and think automatic mirrors are bulky and distracting.

# - Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System: I don't talk on the phone while driving.

# - Heated outside mirrors: I live in NorCal.

Anyway, I hope that helps.

I will probably get the 6sp with no options. The car with no options is about all I can afford - and it comes pretty loaded with no options anyway.

I pretty much agree with recluse (come to think of it, he does sound like one, huh?), except I think the new CA law about cell phone use will make the Bluetooth a must for me. BUT I really want Nav for the voice activation and other cool features, and I really want Tech for the rear camera, so I'll be getting the Premium. I hate that we have to get stuff we don't want to get other stuff we do want, and I'll be forced to get a loaded car if I want this stuff. Oh well, I'll enjoy it all, if I can get a dealer to come down around invoice in a few months....

All the tech stuff in this car is pretty much the only reason I'm not driving a 335i, (or waiting for one from Deutchland.)

I'd say it is definitely worth it to pay 2k and get all those luxury features.

It's not really worth it. Some of these things are simply stupid. Why would I want auto-syncronization? Like you can't do that yourself? Auto up/down rear windows? Who cares? Homelink mirror? It's called a garage door remote. A lot cheaper.

Only useful things are sunroof, heated seats, memory drivers position, and (yet to be determined) Stuido on wheels.

It's a bummer but it's the way they package it that forces most to get it. Do I need mirror sync? Hell no. But the sunroof and bluetooth are manditory for me. The Bose is important to me since it looks like it would be close to impossible to upgrade the stock. The rest of the featrues are nice-to-haves. I will use them, but I would've gotten by fine without them.

I don't know why it would be hard to upgrade the stock. There must be enough room behind the front panels to put some big speakers since I doubt thet built separate panels for the bose system with 10" door speakers. Add a good amp and you're ready to go.

To you it isn't, for others it is.

That is such a general statement to say the Premium package is not worth it and that some of the items are stupid. While this may be the case for YOU, others like the features and amenities in the Premium package and are quite happy paying the extra $2k for it.

People need to just buy the package(s) that fits your needs/wants/budget. I just can't stand general statements like that.
