I should be getting a new 07 sedan by the weekend, and would like to know if the one Infiniti sells fits the Journey and the Sport model? Any help would be appreciated.

One can only assume that they will have a nose mask for the Sport and non-Sport bumper. I don't see how one nose mask will fit both bumpers since they are different.

FWIW, I used a nose mask on my MR2 and I will never use one again. I found that they really trap the moisture and it faded my paint terribly. I had to get my bumper repainted because of it. Anyways, just my personal experience. IMO, I think a clear bra is a much better option.

Thanks, canuck for the info,We currently have an '04 that I use a Callogan bra on. I do take the time to remove it every weekend and usually we drive my Pathfinder. I also keep a good layer of wax on the car and have not experienced any problems. I have never had a clear bra and was wondering how notiable are they on the car. Working a deal now on an '07 Lakeshore Slate Sport and want protection right away.

If you get a clear bra done right it is not noticeable unless you look for it; unfortunately there is a huge difference between a good install and an average one. If you can find a good local installer it's definitely worth the money; I recommend them to all my clients.

FWIW, I generally don't like non-clear bras, not only because of paint fade but because even if they are a tight fit they will still move around and cause marring on the paint. Of course that's just imo only.

I hear ya on getting it protected ASAP. I plan on putting a clear bra on my 07 right away.....at least as soon as a local installer has the template. I don't have a clear bra on my 03, but I have seen a few. I don't find them noticable much at all. IMO, most people wouldn't know its on there unless they were specifically looking for it. It's nice having the paint protection on your car without covering your car up with a nose mask.....but that's just me though. If you don't mind taking the nose mask off regularly, go for it.

Btw, welcome to the board and have fun with your new G this weekend!

I agree with you, why cover that beautiful car up?

I believe that $500-$600 is the norm. Maybe some members on here that have had it done can share some actual pricing info with you. Good luck.

Also, pricing will depend on what you have done.....bumper, hood, mirrors...etc.

I am also interested in getting a clear bra installed as soon as I get my car next week. Any one have any good installer that they recommand in the GTA, Toronto Ontario? And how much is it going to be for the G? For those that lived in the GTA, do you guys want to do a group install? Maybe we can get a better price for it.

Average price in the US is from $600 to $800. I got my dealer to cut me a break at his cost of $350 for 3M.

Pricing depends on location and the installer, *in general* I've found that a bumper wrap runs between $300-$400, hood/fenders (~5-8") + mirrors runs ~$200-$300; so ~$600-$800 is a good estimate. The best bet for determining quality is to see some of the installers work before you have it done. A couple things too look out for are how clean the seams are, or (even better) if the installer wraps the bra where they can (so under the hood lip, under the headlights, etc...) and how tight the bra is - the tighter the better - less orange peel and less chance of bubbling in the future. A good job will be immediately apparent as opposed to an "OK" job - you should not be able to see the bra at all from 2 feet away.

The price can vary if you want extra work done. Some guys like the entire hood to be wrapped, or the rockers; in which case the price for those is similar to having the bumper wrapped. The only time I caution folks on a clear bra is on a white car, where the bra can start to yellow after a few years, although this is less common now.

I'm looking for one too. I've contacted Detailing Dynamics (Mineola) and The Tint Shop (Great Neck). Last I heard (about a week ago), Detailing Dynamics was still working on a template/design for the 07 G35, while The Tint Shop gave me a quote of $700 installed for the hood, mirrors, and front bumper (regular) or $1350 installed for hood, mirrors, front bumper (+grill extension), side rockers, trunk lip, and headlights.

I don't know how great they're work is, but they're listed as certified installers on 3M's website.

I'm currently trying to decide if I should have my dealer leave the white plastic on the car and I'll take it off when installing the clear bra or should I have them detail it and just get the clear bra installed on top of that.

I contacted Detailing Dynamics and the guy told me that they don't use templates. The cut it as they're putting it on. I'm not sure which way is better.

Is it better to have it done at the dealer rather than someone on the outside?
Has anybody had a clear bra put on at the dealer on Long Island?
