Dealers almost always source it out. Cutting the bra as it goes on is not inherently bad, as long as they do not cut while it's on the car. I've seen literally like 50 metal deep scratches from that.

I believe that $500-$600 is the norm. Maybe some members on here that have had it done can share some actual pricing info with you. Good luck.
I used an Xpel dealer for my last car, and will do so again. Just checked, their hood and fender kit for the 07s is $299, the grille kit is $99, etc. And they have diff kits for Sport and other models.

www.xpel.com, and you can find local dealers. Good luck!

From my post of the 2 LI places I contacted. The Tint Shop is an Xpel dealer, while Detailing Dynamics said they used to use Xpel. This is what they said:

"We actually used to install XPEL (back then they went by the name of Invisishield) about 6 years ago. We designed Porsche kits in our shop with them and remained friends to this day. We upgraded to doing all the film custom since then: Better coverage, seamless installation and no relief cuts/seams to collect dirt (unfortuntaly with an exponential increase in installation difficulty)."

As for the template thing. I assume they use templates, because this is what he said to me when I first e-mailed him.

"We're working on a diagram for the '07 model. Give me till tomorrow to get you the prices."

My dealer said that they do clear bra work also (don't know if they source it out). They havent gotten me the prices yet, so I don't know if I'll use them or not.

Well, after my saga with a dealer installed bra, I got a refund and then had a certified 3M dealer that uses Xpel kits do the job. The fit is superb.

I suspect Detailing Dynamics stopped using Xpel, not because custom cuts were better, simply that bringing it in house lowered their cost and increased their margins. If you go on the Xpel website, you can see what they charge for their kits, (retail.) Even if the wholesale kits are substantially less expensive, that's still one cost I would strive to eliminate if I were a dealer.
