I got the Sport with the Tech and Navi Packages and love the Thigh extensions on the seats.

I went with the non-sport because I planned on getting aftermarket wheels so the 18" sport wheels were not a consideration. I also liked the front bumper on the non-sport better. The sport bumper just looks like a frowning mouth to me.

They also had a Journey on the lot with the options package I was looking for and I didn't want to wait months getting the car.

I was also a little worried about the sport seat bolsters being a little snug for a big guy but I have not heard any complaints yet about the sport seats being tight so that may be a non-issue.

I had originally planned on getting wood trim until I saw the Obsidian with stone leather. The Washi trim looks really good with stone.

That said, if they come out with a 6 speed AT in a year or two I might consider trading for a sport and having the front bumper replaced with a non-sport front bumper.

I would get the sport package even if it only added one item I really want: the sport seats. The driver's side sport seat is an absolute masterpiece. With the adjustable bolsters, they can really come in tight. I'm pretty small (5'8" and 140lbs.) and they still became very snug. On the older car, the sport package was forgoeable because it only added suspension and rims. Now, you get superior seats, aluminum pedals, paddles (AT), rims, side sills, front fascia and suspension. I think the sport package is a must and a good bargain.

Yep, the Sport seats alone makes getting the Sport package worth EVERY single penny!!

What's wrong with frowning?!?!?

J/K...

Congrats nonetheless - you won't be disappointed no matter what trim you chose!

I know what you mean, but to me the sport bumper looks like a pissed-off shark's mouth

You can't get the wood trim with the tech package, anyway the aluminum trim looks better imho.

Sure you can, just as long it is not on the Sport model.
