Hey Everyone, I just got my new G yesterday and I absolutley LOVE it. There's just one thing that bothers me. The center console in the 6MT is TINY and the only cupholder in it waaaaaay back behind my elbow. I took my first test drive in a demo vehicle and gave the car a good lookin' over, but it was an AT Sport with the bigger center console. When I test drove the 6MT I wanted, I wasn't paying attention to trivial things like cupholders and storage. I was busy slackjawed and drooling at the power and tight 6 speed. It wasn't till later today that I noticed how small the cosole is.
Anyway I'm still totally pumped to own such an awesome machine, but I thought I'd give everyone who's looking to buy a 6MT a heads-up.

going through the cycle of lights to turn on your headlamps is like flashing your headlamps to grab attention. i always leave it on AUTO

as for the cup holders..i actually took out my cup holder that's in the middle compartment behind the "elbow area". it's too far behind to reach while driving. besides, i needed the extra room for condoms and cigarettes and such . so i use the centered middle compartment (the sliding door-thingy-m0-jigg w/the little removable divider) as cup holders. it holds most cups..but it definetly won't hold SOBE bottles or any xbox looking coffe mugs

 

I, well, my mother is thinking about getting one of these cars, and she was wondering if anyone had or had seen any pictures lik this of an automatic's center console, because she is still bouncing around 6m or 5at, but she really wants a nice C.C. that can actually hold something, and not a small one for a drink or two. Thank you

 

Holy run-on sentence!! Anyways, here is a pic of the center console of a 5AT. It can hold some items such as CDs and so forth, but it is not overly spacious.

 

I was thinking the exact same thing about that when I was typing it. Thank you. She decided on the auto, thinks she is too old for the manual anyway. Now to decide between GE and LS, lol.

 

I hear your frustration. And the armrest cushion is WAY too low for me to rest my elbow on, and I'm a tall guy. I posted this a long time ago:
