New G Model.

Who here thinks that Infiniti should come out with a high performance version of the G to compete with the upcoming Lexus IS V8. Well personally I do because if they don't, BMW and Lexus are goin to take over the market. Maybe a twin turbo 3.5 or 3.7 V6 (detuned version of GTR) mated to a six or seven speed auto. Also around 390HP would be nice.

Comments anyone?

They will.

Now that Lexus has officially announced their performance line-up [F-Line]... Infiniti has no choice but to join the club.

BMW= "M"
Mercedez= "AMG"
Lexus= "F"
Infiniti= ???

But dont expect the "Infiniti Performance Line" to join anytime soon.

I would say maybe a year after the 2008 G35 coupe?

But this is all speculation ofcourse.

I agree. I think they will as well. I also agree that it'll be awhile before Infiniti makes any type of move...so everyone should sit back and chill. It took Lexus 15+ years before they announced a performance division and they never experienced being on the verge of bankruptcy. We don't even know if the "F" line will be successful (I suspect it will be, it'll just take time though). I think the G is a good place to start and the M shall follow.

Why do they HAVE TO enter that market? They haven't done it yet and they seem to be doing just fine.

They as in Infinti?

Well thats obvious... competition .

That's just the way the market works...

Someone builds something... someone else will build something to compete.

It's a no-brainer.

That's what I think they should do but the latest news is that Nissan gets the GT-R. Here's a link:

I wouldnt be surprised if infiniti puts more power under the new coupes hood to compete even better with the 335i. Something like 320.

Hard for Americans to spend $80,000 on a Nissan. At least that was the price mentioned in C&D. Even Honda put the NSX as an Acura.

Personally I think that the new Nissan GTR Proto should be brought to the states under the infiniti flag, But once every car magazine shows what the GTR can do i'm sure people won't mind spending 80K on a nissan
