What Kind Of Cf Card Do You Use?

I am taking delivery of my sport 6mt next week and I wanted to get a compact flash card, but I was wondering which one do you get, a Type I, or 2, plus what is the biggest size you can use on this system.

Make sure you get a Type I card as Type II cards will not fit. It looks like getting a couple 2GB CF cards is the way to go.

I'm using 2GB Sandisk Ultra II CF Type I cards. I bought 4 of them.

Sandisk Ultra II Type I 2GB - honestly though I have only used it to update missing titles in the music box.

Just so everyone knows - you don't need anything other than the cheapest CF card you can find for the data rates used by the CF reader. MP3s run about 320 kbps maximum, so you'll never use the throughput of the Sandisk Ultra II/Extreme III cards.

That said, I use my collection of Sandisk Ultra II 1GB cards - I have them from digital photography. Unlike a music application, a Canon 5D can write as much as 20 megs of a RAW file to the card, and it needs to do so in less than a few seconds : )

Above are two examples of cards that'd work quite well for our needs in a G35. Cheap and simple!

One other thing - while CF cards are pretty much bulletproof, it may be a good idea not to leave it in the car all the time - esp. for those of you in the south where temps are still above 90 in a car in the sun!

True, but the highspeed CFs definitely help when transferring MP3s from your PC to your card.

Touché. I guess it just comes down to the $60-100 premium on the card, really, and the time tradeoff. I haven't ever used regular speed cards, so I wouldn't know about transfer times, but I can't imagine it being too pleasant.

Brand wise, I highly recommend Sandisk - Amongst the fastest rear/write cards on the market.

I bought 2 2gb sandisk ultra IIs for $40 each from staples last week. No rebates involved.

I think they raised the prices to $50, but that's still decent, IMO. I remember buying a 1gb ultraII for $90 just a few months ago.
