Lexus owner to possible 07 G35 owner?

Well I've been a lexus owner now for a couple years now and have always wanted the GS400.....Being that my car is a 99 I've been looking at the 07 G35. I've always liked that car but thought it was a little small on the interior.. I'm 6 ft 210 so i like the added room.. To duplicate my car in a 07 model is going to be around 42-50k. I just don't have that kind of money for a vehicle. To me the 07 G35 beats out the new IS350. That's just my opinion.

The price seems right for the 07 G35. With the added features such as bigger brakes, LSD, paddle shifters, etc.. its worth it. Just don't find those features in a lexus. Sure you can get some of those features in the new IS but the new 350 is 42k.. A new 07 G35 Sport with premium package is 36,500.. or somwhere around there..

Anyway my 99 only has 57k so i'm not in hurry.. What do you guys think i should do?

If you're in no hurry, wait for the '07.5, maybe the '08 models, see where everyone stands.

However, that being said, the '07 G35 is a beautiful, beautiful car that I'm simply amazed with each and every day. And it's highly recommended : ) Just do your research, test drive everything, and see what you think. Though we have come quite a way in engine output and mm...speed in the last 6 years!

IS there any talk of of another model in 08? I like the 07 because it looks like 07 GS but for alot less.. I'm really in no hurry but to upgrade 7 years to a new vehicle would be really nice...LOL Thanks for the response..

Do we really need to answer that question?

If you are not sure, take a G for spin. It will make the decision process obsolete...

Yep, there will be another model for 08......but it will look identical to the 07.

Like others have stated, take it out for a drive and see if it stirs your soul. If it does, buy it. If it doesn't, keep looking.

I think you might be just as many of us were when we test drive it for the first time. Let us know what you decide.

I just went to test drive the G35. The dealer let me take it onto the freeway and all I can say is O MY!!! Currenlty my car has 200hp/180ft and even though it isn't super fast, I was content. But after drivng the G, I need more power!!

Also I drove the IS250 and it seem to have less power than my accord. Also I didn't like as comfortable in the IS as I did in the G and the IS side mirrors seem distored for some reason.

Also after the G test drive, I was talking w/ the salesman in his office. I think he was new b/c he just blurted out it could be had for $500 UNDER INVOICE. I said, do you mean MSRP and he said no, invoice. I told him if that' the case I'm ready to buy. He then just stopped talking and went to get his floor manager and pretty much that was the end of that haha. Good good to be true.

Glad to see you compared the G with the IS.. clublexus owners say the same thing about the IS as the rear seats are way to small and the mirrors are positioned weird on the doors? But that 250 is priced around the same as the new G and the G offers way more features than the IS..

Unless someone totally likes the looks of the IS or really dislikes the looks of the G, it is really hard to compare an IS250 to the 07 G in terms of what you get for the $$.

I ordered an '07 G35 Sport AT

and will be picking it up in the morning...no qualms at all. In fact, I did not even test drive another vehicle. I have a '97 Maxima with 102k miles and a '95 240sx with 170k miles...only problem between the two has been 1 starter. Aside from that, it has been nothing but oil changes.

I checked out the 3-series and it just didn't make me want to part with the money...never actually drove it but the rear seat was tiny.

I sat in the IS350 but it just seemed cramped and unemotional.

I drove the G35 for 10 minutes and placed an order. I don't see how you can go wrong with it.

I totally agree if i understand you right the G offers way more for the money..I might even wait to late 07 for the 08 model to come out. Its nice not having a car payment and with the G I'll definitely have one...
