How do you like your SOW?

There seems to be this notion that the SOW system isn't very good. I like it myself but I figure I start a poll and just see how people really feel.

Thumbs up

I was just listening to a Flamenco Guitar CD that I just bought.........wow, the SOW really shines with this kind of music. It is so crisp and clear and the instruments really seem to come alive!

I love it. I listen to alot of different music, pretty much everything but twangy country and rap/hip hop.

The bass is really crisp. more than good enough for the techno/industrial i listen too. I prefer sound accuracy and this stereo definitely does a good job in that regard.

Classic example of biasing the audience to one side ...

There's an old adage in psychometrics ... that the first place you can go wrong is to ask your poll question in a way that biases the respondents. When you lead off with the suggestion that others have already decided the system is not good, you bias people by trying to put doubt on their own original impressions. This invalidates your poll.

OK. Think it needs more bass. Well, actually it doesn't need more bass it just needs a way to increase the bass frequency volume relative to the mids/highs. Either a 3 band EQ or a bass boost button that bumps the low frequency EQ up a notch would do the trick.

I think its great. Recently saved a Mahler cd and the thump of bass (kettle drums) I thought was missing in a old Eagle's cd showed up right where it was supposed to be.

I think I wouldn't have a problem with the SOW since I listen mostly to contemporary jazz instrumental music (i.e. acoustic guitar, sax, piano or combination).

I listen to a lot of instrumental and acoustic/flamenco guitar and I find it sounds incredible on the SOW.......probably more so than any other type of music I have listened to on it.

I don't completely agree, the poll is/was to get a reference point. The problem is you can ask a 100 different questions and still not cover every point.

The point here is to get a general feeling how people feel about SOW. No one system will meet "everyone's" needs. But if the majority is satisfied with it then it hits its target, if the majority hates it then it misses the target.

The idea is to make a product people want and are happy with. If a product lacks certain functionality then it up to the manufacture to make whatever improvements are necessary to keep the customers coming back.
