Any help on the thermostat would be appreciated so I can show/tell them about it when I take my car back in for the new button/steering wheel.
I haven't received a response to my voicemail regarding the thermostat. It is entirely possible that my service advisor was simply telling me these things to get me off of their back, and that I was hallucinating the whole time. However, the fact still remains that there's some sort of thermostat control on the seats, otherwise they'd just keep pumping power through them (well, okay, this is unless somebody stuck a triac on it and switched the power...but somehow I think KISS applies in this case, particularly with a wide variance of performance of heater elements!) and turn into a bad situation very fast.Originally Posted by DaCurryman

Then again they also said that the problem I was having with my steering wheel "back" button was nothing. Finally I had to have them show me a single thing the button did (it doesnt work)...no surprise they couldnt get it to do anything and finally caved that it's broken.Any help on the thermostat would be appreciated so I can show/tell them about it when I take my car back in for the new button/steering wheel.
Maybe one of the service techs / advisors that frequent this forum can help us out on this one? Was my dealership just getting me off their case, or is there actually a thermostat control on the seats somewhere?

The service department of Hyatt Infiniti called me yesterday and told me that unlike the M the G does not have any way of adjusting the temperature of the seats. They further said that they spoke with Infiniti Canada and they agree that Infiniti's heated seat just aren't as good as any of their competitors such as MB, BMW, or FORD!! They said FORD!! They told me that the heated seats have either a low or a high current running into them and they can't change it. Apparently the heated seats in the M are run off of the engine temperature. I have to say I am very very impressed with Hyatt Infiniti. Originally Posted by DaCurryman

I was also told that no dealership in North America has the winter floor mats available for the 07G, strange considering other members have said that they got theirs.

I've got a set in mine right now. If you want, let me know and I'll give you photos of the bloody things - however the box went out with the recycles yesterday!Originally Posted by ChristianN

PS: I may be wrong about the seat heaters, it's happened before, and I was just hallucinating about heat levels. However I can actually tell that they're on now, so maybe there was some magic blue smoke put back into the system...

Thanks for offering up the pictures, but for now I think I'll hold off on truely alienating the one person at Hyatt that seems to care that I exist. My salesman gave me a set of generic mats that he bought at Canadian Tire to hold me over until the real ones come in. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the mats run you?Originally Posted by wavelengths

damn...even Infiniti.com says $82 MSRP, but then it says "Retailer sets actual price." in the footnote. Oh wellz....considering I spent $165 for myself and 2 friends at a bar yesterday, I think the $15 wont kill me.

I had the same experience with my Maxima when it was brand-new, under 1000k. Everything was "normal." When I pointed out how the rear bumper assy. was rusted, they said that was normal. Fuel gauge not going above F when tank full, normal (it did sometimes, others not). Parking lamps not working sometimes, not normal, but after keeping my car 1 day, they didn't work when I picked up the car (haha I told them to give me an Infiniti I30 loaner and they did). Clutch shuddering and whining, normal! I learned a lot from my experience, because there would be a lot of trips to the Nissan dealership between 1k and 36k, and as time went on, I no longer accepted defects as "normal." The car was on its 4th fuel tank sending unit by 36k.....Originally Posted by DaCurryman

I can't understand why if the steering wheel button wasn't working, why they would be defensive and try to say it's fine?? If they continue to make you prove to them things aren't working, I would say take it to another dealership (unless they are giving you a free loaner). That's what I did with the Maxima as I relocated, and it was a different world in getting things repaired under the bumper to bumper warranty. Good luck!

Sheeesh, I always thought that was a freebie. Can't stand that when you're paying north of 35k on a car. I bet you can find a mail order dealership to at least save 15-30%, at least on Nissan and BMW you can. With the BMW they gave me a choice of carpeted or all weather for free--I took carpeted since they cost more (like $130 list). But I'll probably mail order the winter ones as I think they're only in the $40's for two front, and $20's for the two rear.Originally Posted by wavelengths

On the heated seats issue, my Maxima is very slow to heat on the high setting, but eventually it will be too hot to keep at high. The BMW gets too hot on the high setting in a matter of a couple of minutes, but it has 3 settings...

I pre-paid $114.95 Canadian before taxes. The Part # is 999E1-JT000BK, these are black ones.
I have no idea when they will be shipped to me.

I emailed my dealer in Boston and he quoted me the exact same price. Maybe I'll drive up to Nashua and save a few bucks.Originally Posted by DaCurryman

Christian,
I purchased mine from Ericksen Infiniti (in Edmonton) for $140 CDN when I picked my car up (last Friday). The sales guy said I was getting a good deal since the retail price was $180
Guess I should have checked here to see what others were paying. They are nice mats though ...
