How early are most of you getting the first oil change in the G?

I ask this because I've heard of people changing the oil very early (after < 1000 miles) in order to rid the engine of extra debris generated during its initial use. Does this actually prolong engine life or performance, or is it a waste of money?

 

I was going to do it at 1.5k (have done the same on previous cars), but am around that mileage now and per a couple other users' experiences, will see how dirty the oil is first.

So...may wait until 3k, haven't decided yet.
