Really? The trunk mounted CD player in cars with Nav won't play MP3 CD's? That sucks. My non Nav one plays MP3 CD's and it's great! CF slot would be nice too, cause it's easier to change whats on it than a CD, but that sucks that your changer wont do MP3 cds.

Yeah, only the dash mounted CD player will play an MP3 CD. Between the CF card and the Music Box, it's pretty much a guarantee that I will never use the CD Changer in the trunk.

I found this strange as well on Infiniti's part.
It's not as if the equipment isn't available. (My 6 pack plays MP3s)

JMHO, but a standard 6 pack is just a waste of the trunk space.

Hopefully the formatting isn't issue, but yeah there could be great potential including upgrading the HD with a larger one that you've preloaded at your PC rather than having to do it disc by disc. Imagine how much worse that would be if the drive were much larger. Still I always thought the drive is way too small in this world of mega storage.

I wouldn't count on it. Many companies that make music servers (like the Yamaha MusicCast) do not allow MP3 transfers just to stay on the the safe side of the legality of music rights. Kinda dumb I know, but some companies just rather not deal with it.

I still think that despite its limitations having a hard drive AND a CF slot puts Infiniti far beyond the competion for entertainment features. Oh yeah and I almost forgot the AV jacks, another great feature. Everyone made a big deal about Acura with the 5.1, but this is WAY more useful. No other car offers all this, kudos to Infiniti.

Actually I have to defend G-lanta...You're right G-lanta, 6 CD's do hold more mp3's than a 2gb flash card. I must have had a few too many that night. Anyway, the CF option just seams more functional and easier to use than CD's. I guess you just have to experience the system and use it to understand why.

The in-trunk 6 CD changer is a waste. I'll never use it, and it takes up space. I do like the music box, it rips CD's quickly, and gracenote works pretty good as far as album/song recognition. I do have a problem with the non-functional menu while in motion, that's why two - 2 gb cards work the best for me. I got the Ultra II's on sale at Staples a few weeks ago for $39 US each....now you can't find them for under $60 anywhere.
