That's pretty funny:

Me - 1995 Maxima SE -> 2003 Maxima SE -> 2007 G35S

I came from a 2002 Camaro SS. The speeds not the same but the cabins are worlds apart. Upgraded everything except for speed and sound. Don't get me wrong the G moves but its not netting me a 12 second time slip yet.

But i might be one of the few people here who have an 07 G and a 2004 Toaureg in the driveway. I have to say there are some differences between the 2. For one the drivetrain on the infiniti is smoother. The VW's is excellent but not that good. Less vibration is present. I find all of the tech easier to use as well. Its all integrated better in the G. Also the reliability factor. I didnt have good luck at first with the VW. Went to the dealer several times for tire pressure sensor problems. Im hoping this will improve with infiniti. No problems yet but we will see. I do however miss the details the VW offers. Can we say, "HEATED STEERING WHEEL!" Probably the best feature still not available on every luxury car. Also like you mentioned about the 1 click for changing lanes and the air suspension. These are serious features that i would love to have on this car but its just not there. Overall i think the G is a more solid ride over all, but the VW seems to have more thought put into it. They think of simple things that drivers can use. I dont think you will be upset with the G.

Audi A6 4.2 to G35X. Ride is quieter, fit and finish is about equal, G feels quicker, interior is more up to date, and price is priceless.

Came from an '01 Audi A6 2.7t. It was a very capable car. After 6 years there were no squeeks or rattles. Years ago, I sent the ECU to some tuner in FL and they claimed an additional 50 hp. While I had a hard time believing that, there is no doubt that the performance increased mightily.

The G35x is a very nice car loaded with features that make it a performance bargain. Seems that all the journos prefer the new BMW 335, but I really like the AWD aspect of the G (or Audi).

I was very interested in the A6 (V8 model), but was not up for paying $65K.

Now that I've got a few miles on the G, and have been stomping on the accelerator, I'm growing more attached to it.

I would say it's a slight upgrade from the Kia Sorento I traded in But technically I also have a '06 Odyssey Touring which has some very nice features I wish the G had.

2002 Corvette Z06. It had 13K miles on it when I traded it in. I never drove it, so that left me driving my beater 1997 Chrysler Concorde everyday. So, I got an upgrade to something that was comfortable and a car I could drive every day.

I'll second that!!!
I had an '02 S/E and still miss that heated/steering.... .....and I still wonder why such a great option fell out of favour...
It's not even on my M.----BOOOO Nissan.

my old car: 2003 Acura RSX. i just got tired of driving a slammed car around the streets of san francisco and my modding phase was pretty much over. it was time to grow up and get a normal car that i could drive around that would look good and drive fast stock

Sounds like a sensible decision and a very good choice on cars.

2004 Volvo S60 2.5T. Good car, has some features my G lacks, but I would say the G35x is an upgrade.
