Whistling noise from rear - problem fixed

Thought I would share this with you.

Above 60 MPH and or on a windy day, I was getting a whistling noise from the rear passenger side door. I thought it was the door seal. Checking this forum I saw that someone had the same issue and it was loose trim. This was not the case for me.

Took it into Infiniti of Kirkland and the tech sat in the back while I tried to get it to whistle - and of course it would not... but wait... for a 0.5 mile on 405 it started to and the tech was all over it pressing the door and windows.

The cause? The small quarter pannel window in the rear door. The window seal had an "air leak".

I got a loaner car (2006 G35x) and a call in the afternoon to say the car was ready. Problem fixed. What a friggin' relief. They popped the window, put some sealant in there and replaced the window.

Isn't the interior of the 2006 G35 nasty? And to think I was even considering that because of the possible deals. How did they manage to get away with such an aweful interior for so long? Guess I should not complain about getting a G35 as a loaner, unlike my Merc friend here who had to drive a Kia Rio for two days....ha ha ha ha

Think that's pretty subjective - the guys who drive 06 G35s probably like it...

I checked with the dictionary and you are indeed correct. Opinions are subjective

This is the kind of thing that I sorta miss coming from Lexus. Generally speaking, fit and finish details like this are a non issue with a Lexus. Doesn't mean I don't love my G though, although I only got to drive it 10 days before it got rear ended and I won't get it back til tomorrow or tuesday .

Mine has the same wind noise in the rear passenger side door/window as well. Will have to have them look at it when I get my car back.
