G35 Crash Test Ratings?

I noticed that the G35 sedan's doors were considerably lighter than like say a TL's or IS's. Not sure if this is due to the design of the doors or just if they are more hollow?

Does anyone have crash-test info on the new G? Thanks.

Depends on the model of M, but you're looking at 300-400 lbs heavier than the G.

Hopefully it's not something I'll have to worry about cause this is the deciding factor for me now.

I noticed this too. The doors on the new G aren't as heavy as my '03.

dunno what the crash test ratings are, but state farm gave me a 30% safety discount with the G35. The IS300 only got me a 10% safety discount. My G35's insurance cost actually dropped to about 30-40 bucks/6months cheaper than my IS300 was. I doubled some of my coverages when I got the G35 and it's still $5/6months cheaper than the IS300s insurance.

Maybe it's because the G35 sedan is 1) cheaper in costs for repairs, and 2) doesn't have that same stigma that the IS has about it being a street race car and all. The G35 coupe, on the other hand, probably costs a lot more for insurance. I see a lot of young kids driving (and fixing up) ISs. For the G35 sedan, I see mostly older family drivers. It's always nice to see a fixed up G35 sedan.

The Lexus IS300 isn't any more expensive to repair than the G35 is. parts lists prices are pretty close.

Also, from what I understood, that's not factored into the safety discount. The things you mention are factored into the base rate.

The G35 coupe got the same 30% safety discount. It just had a higher base insurance rate.
