Folding Mirrors?

Does the '07 have auto folding mirrors (e.g. a button you press inside that will fold them in). Also, are the side mirrors heated for defrosting / defogging (like the rear glass is)?

No electric folding mirrors. Yes to heated mirrors.

No, the mirrors fold in but not automatically. They are heated though, and I think it's an awesome feature. Never again will I have to scrape my mirrors then readujust them when I get in the car!!

A bit of a pity on the no-go for automatic folding. Never thought it was a big deal until I had a car that had them - quite useful. But, nothing that is a deal-breaker. Though, I do wish we had turn signal lights in our mirrors - I think they would make this car look even hotter.

Agreed on the heated mirrors - also a feature that is on the "must have but not a deal breaker" side of the list. Once you have them, you never want to go back. I live in Texas where it doesn't really freeze but it is nice to have them to burn off the morning dew and not get streaks from wiping the mirrors with a cloth.

It's odd that the Japanese version of the car has turn signals on the mirrors, wonder why they left that off of the NA version.

I actually like them without the turn signals. I wish the mirrors move when you are in reverse (I don't have the backup camera).

Agreed - while I like the signals in the mirros... that does NOT look good.

When do you fold your mirrors anyway? I don't think I've ever done that except once in a parking structure in a tight space next to a column. Just curious....

My current car has it - and although it is an SUV - thus taking up more space in a parking spot - I have found that I use it ALL the time even when there is plenty of space. I find that it generally makes peoples lives easier to pass walk though. Also, our Toll Road Lanes are narrow here and I put my mirrors in when passing through those as well.

Edit: Actually, I just looked it up and the G35 is only 5in smaller than my SUV in width.

Seeing the Japanese version I'm glad we don't have that. It is odd though that the redesigned Altima has them, and better looking as well.

That's gotta be really annoying! I would hate that.

The version in Korea comes with automatically folding mirrors, which is standard in most cars here. For parking (and sometimes driving in narrow alleys) its a real pain and many times, without folding mirrors, there's literally no room for normal people to pass between parked cars. Its crazy! I miss the wide open parking in the States. I'm constantly worried the car will get dings, but there's no way to avoid it.

But getting back on topic, yes the auto folding mirrors are convenient. Just wish they used retained power... it'll fold and then stop midway if you shut down the ignition halfway through.
