What did you use to splice/tap into the wires/plug?
I was able to get a couple of thin metal sticks from work. Similar to what the inviscord uses. Not sure where you could buy those tho

Other than the name (invisicord), no one here mentioned anything about HOW it connects to the mirror (the link doesn't work for me).

Thanks for the input.

I used a regular black phone cord, spliced the wires into the back of the mirror and just used electrical tape. All the connections are hidden inside the telescoping plastic cover that hides the factory wires.

Used a Valentine 1 with mikes mount, and this setup works perfectly. I can take out my radar in about 2 seconds in two quick motions with one hand and I just put my radar away in my nav pocket. It takes about 3 seconds to put back in, heheh.

The invisicord is nice (less work), but it doesn't have the remote silencer that the hard-wire kit from Escort has, which is a must in my opinion.

I wish there was a way to reprogram one of the buttons on the mirror to mute.

Even then it would still be inconvenient (imo) because you would still need to reach all the way up to the mirror (might as well reach to the detector). I mounted my remote right by the shifter - very easy and convenient.

I finally got mine installed.
I went to Radio Shacks and tried to make something similar to the invisicord, but it did not work out, so I just spliced into the wires and called it a day.

Works like a charm.........I like it.

Nice,

How did you install the rear view mirror? I did that, but the RV mirror is so big that the 2 hooks actually show on the bottom. I don't see those hooks on yours
