went to the track today

temp was 84deg F.

First run : 14.18 at 98mph

Second run : 14.10 at 99mph

Will scan time slips soon.

I believe those numbers are good for and automatic.

Take care

Thanks for sharing. I'm interested to see what the 60 foot times are when you scan them in.

Those are good #'s - kudos...

Did you optimize your runs by shedding any excess weight, 1/4 tank fuel, and lowering tire pressures?
If you didn't, and running on a cooler day/night, you would easily be in the 13's at over 100..... excellent...

i was expecting the auto to at least hit 13's. It's good #'s but I expected better. Guess I'll keep my car until they raise the displacement on the engine to at least a 3.7

Just have to ask ... where are you located (84F?) the rest of us are pretty cold this time of year!

Good job at the track!

Can you (or anyone else reading) provide the the best technique for launching aside from environmental conditions?

In the old days, I would know what the optimum RPM should be for the torque converter I had, but now, I'm not sure what to hold at.

You might take a look at his slips before making that call. For example, I've never gone to the track before, so would expect to miss the car's maximum perf. Kendroz could be really good, or could be he's a track newbie like me.

At first I thought it was about TRUE racing track not a drag strip.

Correction: You went to the drag strip.

With a little more practice on ideal weather, elevation, you can probably reach mid-to-high 13's.

Nice numbers for a first.
