Remote starter on 07G

We just got our new G a couple days ago with a dealer installed 2 way remote starter. The remote starter works fine except that as soon as you get in the car and put your foot on the brake the engine quits, you then have to restart the engine before you can drive off. The dealer says there is no way around this because of the intelligent key system. Does anybody else have a G with a remote starter that doesn't have to in effect start the car twice?

it works as a safety ... the point of remote start is to warm up the car. it takes one second to start up the car again once you get in but at least you'll be warm

I don't drive an '07 but on my remote start I have to put the key in and turn it twice to the right and then step on the brake pedal to completely start the car, otherwise if I step on the brakes without turning the key the car completely shuts off. I know you have the intelli key, but don't you still have to turn the starter as if there was a key in it?

hmm..so im guessing the negatives to this would be the amount of gas you waste for start up, huh?

btw, whats the price on these remote starters???

It doesn't waste any gas at all if any. RPMs is what burns gas.

yes, but MB did a test in which they started the car on and off repeatedly for 2 mins compared to a car that was just idling. It actually used less gas.
