And also, those companies you speak of run large wheels to fit large brakes & tires, and have enough power to not have to worry about a few extra lbs. of wheel weight, it actually plays a large part in how a car handles and rides. large, heavy 20's will also lower your gas mileage, compaired to lighter 19's. I still believe that 20's are too big, they look good, but looks aren't everything(at least to me) but cars are getting larger and they're not looking too out of proportion with the larger wheels.

I'm not advocating 20's(or any size for that matter). Looks are definitely not everything and if the way you drive is sensitive and particular to minute differences between a 19 and 20 in wheel, then by all means, go for what works for your 'style'. Any change in wheel size, whether it be +1, +2 or more, will affect the characteristics of the car, and of course, the less its affected the better. Most people are, though, won't split hairs about the small difference in 19's and 20's. We're not talking Escalades and Expeditions plus sizing to 26in wheels here. And not sure if you noticed but the new G's 13in. brakes aren't that much tinier than what comes on most higher end performance cars nowadays. I may not be as adept as you are when it comes to feeling performance changes but I've noticed no change whatsoever in the braking after running the 20's. The extra grip from the wider tires may be making up for it, though, so I couldn't assert for sure.
If you really wanted to get the purest performance out of the G that it was meant to have out of the factory, why not just get slightly wider 18's, better tires and a fully adjustable coilover suspension? It may look a bit small in the well but as you mentioned, looks aren't everything and your performance won't be affected one bit by a bigger wheel diameter at all in a negative way. Just my opinion on what I think you're trying to get at.
Whatever you do choose to go with, though, I'm sure it'll turn out great.
I'm already have a freind talking to his contact at tein to get some coilovers with edfc, I was thinking of staying with the 18" wheels but I feel the sidewall is too tall and rolls when pushed hard, I think the 19" should be a good middle ground. I'm also looking in to different brakes, Brembo has a front kit with 2 different size rotors but they don't have a rear kit yet.
I think I'm going to go with 19X8.5" it the front and 19X9.5 it the rear, and lower it around an inch, I don't want to move the roll center too much, and I still would like some suspension travel.

So I couldn't get the Teins and I didn't want to get wheels before I lower it so I have the H&R springs on the way. I'm going to get these wheels, 19X8.5" +35 F ; 19X9.5" +42 R mercury silver

I'll get the coilovers later, I think I have a primo spot on the dash for the edfc control unit.

Even high performance german car tuners of BMW's(Hartge, AC Schnitzer), Porsche's(TechArt, Ruf) and Mercedes(AMG, Lorinser) run 20's, even 21's on their cars without 'sacrifices' in performance.
There are many factors and pros/cons in deciding between 19's & 20's but unless your butt dyno and your driving skill is at a profound level, the difference in feel between 19's and 20's are negligible, IMO. It'll basically come down to which look you prefer and how much you're willing to spend.

'Debate'? What debate? Nah, no debate going on here. Its about as much of a debate as saying what color is best and why you think so.
Some like to de-badge, some don't. Some like to black out their taillights, headlights, sidemakers, front windshield whatever else they can make black, and some don't. Some like 18's, some may want 21's. Totally subjective to what you're into.
Everybody's got their reasons for what they do and it'll always be right in their own eyes. Thats all that matters in the end, really.
Nice choice in wheels, btw, john! Can't wait to see them mounted up!
