Ok, well my car has been in the body shop for over a month now. It was hit when parked and ruined the headlight, front bumper, fender, and bumper support. Well the bumper support was cracked(made of fiberglass). The shop ordered the part but infiniti says the part is on national backorder and dont have a release date. What the heck am i suppose to do. I'm basically paying insurance(which isnt cheap), car payment, xm payment all for no reason. i've been driving some pos rentacar around. I only got to drive my car for a month and now havent had it for over a month. I"m so pissed.

Dude ... that sucks.
Is it worth it to pause payments on insurance and XM?
I know my insurance company will for no fees, but I don't know about XM.
Edit: just thinking ... if the car is financed, you gotta keep the insurance on.

I ordered a remote start for my car with an additional key. I didn't want to use one of the two keys the car came with. I picked the car up almost a month ago and the key is still on backorder.
The car is so new that they don't have the parts yet but a month for a key is ridiculous.

had mine for 12 days. got rear ended 12/12. Still in the shop. Will be there til mid feb. Heatshield, exhaust, muffler and trunk trim are all unavailable til sometime in Feb.
They were able to get the bumper assembly (and all of it's components) and the rear crumple rails.

Even a damn bottle of touch-up paint is not in stock, and I requested it back in mid November. Definintely put a stop to your insurance payments. If you're not driving it, you don't need it insured. Resume your insurance once you get your car back. Sorry to hear about your situation.
My first post - on the same subject
I managed to crash mine last Wednesday morning on the ice in Dallas. The dealership said that I was going to have some serious waiting to do based on the parts that were damaged.

This is because all kinds of sh-t could happen while your car is at the bodyshop. My brother's car had its entire aftermarket stereo system stolen while at a Nissan dealer service dept overnight. People have had their cars burned up when the bodyshop caught on fire. Others have had the bodyshop go out of business and when they go back to try to get their car, it's gone or pieces are missing, etc. This is why you want to keep the comprehensive coverage.
As for collision and liability, you're taking a risk suspending those coverages too, but it's a relatively low risk. You just want to make sure you put liability covg back on near the end of repairs as they may need to test drive the car and may end up getting into an accident or something which you, as the owner, could be held liable for.
Now, you're thinking, well if any of this happens, the bodyshop would be resopnsible. While this is true in theory, most bodyshops are not huge businesses with tons of assets and if something really bad happens, they may not have the cash or insurance to protect you or your property.
