So for the guys that opt'd not to get navi pkg like me, what are u guys gonna use for navi. I currently have the Garmin 330, but am tempted to get the nuvi for its' size. Bascially only want a navi for situations wher I really need it. Most of the time i'll prob sit in the glove box (unless I can find a cool way to integrate it)
I got the G35 with Nav. However, before I got my G35, I did a lot of research on what GPS to get for my previous car. It was a hard decision between the Tom Tom 910 and the Garmin nuvi 350. The Tom Tom 910's user interface is nice. The 3-D effect of the Tom Tom is, IMO, a little better than the nuvi's. Also, it updates a little faster than the nuvi (sometimes nice when you're driving really fast and approaching many roads). The Tom Tom 910 had some features that seemed attractive as well, such as bluetooth and integration with iPod. However, I decided on the nuvi. Its main selling point is its small size. Very portable. I don't like leaving a portable GPS in the car, so its portability was great. It's also great when I travel, since I can easily bring it with me. IMO, the Tom Tom 910 is just too big to carry around with me, and it's advantages don't outweigh its much larger size. There are various versions of the nuvi. I like the nuvi 350 since it's small. The nuvi 360 is the same size, but has bluetooth. There's a widescreen version of the nuvi as well, but its less portable.

BTW, I like the fact that I got a Nav for my G35. But, one thing I miss about my nuvi is being able to use all the features of the nuvi while driving. The built-in Nav of the G35 constrains what you can do while the car is moving.
Hmmm... how about a map? LOL, just kidding.
I actually bought this one, the JVC eVinu from CompUSA a couple of weeks ago when it had a $100 instant rebate.

I'm sure it's not the best one, but for only $200, it is probably very hard to beat. Comes with all mounting hardware you need for the car, hard drive based and preloaded with all maps and POI's. It's a pretty slick unit. Also, (at least so far), it seems like the updates are free. I was able to download a data update from the JVC website for free. Uses Navteq maps, by the way.

The Nav was an option that I could give or take.. but with the addition of the 10GB of mp3 storage, I decided I wanted the integrated Nav. If I hadn't gotten it, I would not have gotten a portable Nav system, I just would have done without.

Y'all:
I bought a Garmin c530 nav for my nav-less G35. Works well.
Dallas is growing fast, so some roads are missing, but I'd say about 90% of the suggested routes are as I would drive them. Once in a while you get a doozy though that makes you go "WTF???".

Joey

Well, my thread with a similar question was pretty much dead so I guess I can link the question here.
I have the non-navi 2007 sedan, and my question is….
Is there a portable NAV system that will connect to the 2007 Sedans AV outlet so that it can display image on the OEM screen?
Is that even possible?
Another question...if it's possible and an aftermarket Navi is available, will you be able to view the navi and still be able to listen to radio/CD since AV option is selected? (Hope what I’m asking makes sense)
