I'm on the border beween LA and Orange County. IMO, the XM traffic coverage is excellent out here.

I'm still on the wall as far as XM radio itself though. Keep in mind you can indeed get XM traffic without XM radio.

It works pretty well where I live (SF bay Area). I noticed a few times that the GPS shows major congestion and when i drive through it almost seems like traffic is flowing normally. For the most part the NavTraffic has worked pretty well. The more people sign up for it the more markets will have it available and the more accurate it will be (at least I hope).

The NAV is great, but the realtime traffic is not worth the subscription - I live in Seattle. Traffic is predictable and there are not many ways to get around it here. You also have to zoom out big time on the NAV to see what is coming.

Nice idea - but no thanks.

You should be able to scroll around on the map w/o zooming.

I agree that XM radio (which I have now on my acura) is not worth it. But to avoid traffic- boy is that a great idea.

Agreed, but dangerous leaning over and doing this whilst losing your location on the map. Good on paper, reality is somewhat differrent. I have had it since Nov and have never found a use for it.

I hardly ever scroll either. I usually go to INFO and get traffic info on current route.

Hi Terry,

would you happen to know off the top of your head how much XM traffic (without radio) costs?

I think regular XM service is $10 a month, right?

I believe XM traffic is $3 if you have XM radio and $6 w/o XM radio. (per month). I'm sure others will chime in if I am off.

You should probably call them up to see if coverage is available in your area first.

People call me GoofyG at work, too. I used 28 because that's the alias I use on some other sites, and GoofyG is usually taken. When I posted on Mazda6Club.com forums, someone joined, also GoofyG____, but it was a girl.

Sorry to be off topic. Nav is GREAT! I love it. I'm going to cancel my XM early next month. The traffic is decent, but the night I heard a traffic incident on an AM station, drove right by it, and nothing showed up on my XM traffic, I knew it was a the end for me.

The nav loads up SO quickly, and while the routing isn't always the most ideal, it should get you to where you need. Brownie points to Infiniti for using a hard drive.
