I ordered a G35 Journey/Premium/Nav/Tire package in January. I was hoping that it would come in Feb 7th, but it looks like it's going to be delayed. (Austin Infiniti's been great. They gave me a new FX35 to drive around since I ordered the car so I don't put any more miles on my trade-in until my car comes in.)

They emailed me today with my VIN number so my car must have just been loaded on the ship. For those of you in Austin who ordered a car do you remember an approximate time from getting the VIN number to delivery?

I have to plan some overseas trips in the next month and a half or so. Some of these are a couple of weeks long and it would really suck to be out of town when my car finally gets here.

Had my 6MT delivered to the SA dealer just over a week ago after placing the order @ end of December. I've communicated with Shealea in Austin quite a few times via e-mail & found her very helpful & courteous. It was the times I talked with her assistances that I realized they (& everybody else) are very short on manual since Infiniti anticipates a very low MT/AT ratio so wait time could be months. I know there are lots of Sport models, figure the others X included could also be harder to get.

When I placed my order in December they already knew about the 6MT on a ship being enroute to Washington state & just did a dealer exchange to bring it to SA so they were able to give me the VIN # right there.

You can check out my LS over @ the new owner/pic threads.

Hey Gil,

I'm in Austin, as well. I ordered my G35 sport, 6MT the first week of November and am still waiting for my car to arrive. I feel you pain!

I got my VIN last week with an ETA for the week of Feb. 16th. Not sure if the ETA is to the U.S. or if it's to Austin.

Hope you get your car before you head overseas.

Can't imagine how antsy you must be getting. It's only been a few weeks for me and it feels like I've already memorized the owners manual and been lurking on these boards forever.

The dumb thing is I passed up a chance to buy one on the lot because I was still deciding and negotiating between a g35 and an Acura TL-S. I called the next day and the G was gone. Guess it's karma.

i think i waited 4-6 months for my coupe when i ordered it from sewell in dallas. i never got a vin. tried to keep my mind off of it. i was living in austin at the time but austin infiniti wouldn't match sewell's price. and the sad thing is, they had the exact car i wanted sitting on the lot.

well thats a good thing cuz the tl-s is a P.O.S. i seen some on the road and i must slap my self for even considering getting one of those. The G is on another level completely from the Tl in any trim

I'm a little surprised sewell didn't just do a dealer swap so that you wouldn't have to wait.

My wife's driven a succession of Acuras and we've had good luck with them (plus the dealer here can't negotiate worth a damn and we've been getting really good deals) so I decided to at least look at the TL-S.

I actually got a better deal on the TL-S but I couldn't handle the thought of driving a frontdriver everyday. It's bad enough I'm trading in my 3rd gen RX-7 for a sedan.

I got my G from Austin Infiniti. I was told that it would be mid-February for the car I ordered in mid-December, but then they magically came up with one just like I ordered, but with a couple extra options, on the last business-day of the year. They said it was ordered for someone else who, at the last minute, decided to get an M35 instead.

So, if anyone wants a Black 6MT with Premium and Nav, they already have one on order, due in February.

If it helps, I DIDN'T order from Austin because they told me "MSRP only." Now, this was in mid-November, so things might have changed - but I bought from Grubbs in Dallas.

I got a small discount and they didn't charge me for a couple of little things (like wheel locks) when I closed at the end of the year. They said it was "highly unusual" to discount the 6MT cars because they're so scarce, but they were doing it this one time to get the sale booked in 2006 (yeah, whatever)

I know other dealers in Texas discount, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that they've come off MSRP for. But, yes, they're official pricing policy is MSRP.
