Delays for Ordered G35s?

I ordered my G35x (Platinum, Nav, Tech, Premium, graphite, wood) just before the new year. I sold my wife's car quickly (for $4k more than dealer trade in offer) and now each day seems like two waiting on the new ride. I was told March when I put down my deposit. I'm in Salt Lake City.

To see if I could find one sooner, I have called about 15 dealers in CA, NV, WA, OR, all doing locates, and there are none to be had (or even coming in) with this configuration. It seems the issue is the AWD X, "Tech" package and wood. There are none west of the Mississippi on any lot and none coming in until April. If you can live without Tech and Wood on an X, you can find one, but if you want it all you will have to get in line until April. Two differenent dealers said there was an issue with the "Boat" with 600 Gs on it that would delay their deliveries by two weeks. One said strike at terminal and the other said mechanical problems.

My Brouchere is warn and torn I have looked at it so much (no wood jokes here). I think I will go back by the dealer and "test drive" at least once a week just to keep my sanity.

How are others dealilng with this pain and loss of sleep! Any ideas on what to do while waiting? (Besides becoming a stalker of those with Gs already).

LOL, I feel your pain! There are a number of us that can relate to what you are going through......especially some of us Canadians whom had to wait extra long due to a strike at the port in Vancouver. My wait was over 5 months.......so just do what I did and spend 23 hours a day here on Driver!

The port strike affected us in the prairies as well! I ordered mine back in September and picked Mid January only because the dealer flubbed up and the extra car just happened to be my spec. Otherwise, it would've been a end of February wait.

I'll count that as a win

FWIW, I put my deposit in the end of November and my order went in, in the beginning of December. I was told "End of February, beginning of March...". Given the fact that my order seems to have been entered a month before yours, I wouldn't expect to see yours anytime before March.

Good luck, I feel your pain and can relate.

I put my deposit down on 11/30, and the order was placed in December. I was given an estimate of Feb. On 1/29, I received my VIN, and an ETA for the week of 2/23....We'll see...

Ordered mine on Nov. 7th. She's due in the week of Feb 16th.

Damn, I'm excited!

I've just tried to pretend that mine won't be in for 6 months, that way I can't even get excited, but once I got the VIN#, it was all over. I don't even sleep any more! LOL.

Is your shipment the first with 4WAS?

First week of January I put my name on a Journey/prem/nav that the dealer already had coming in on Feb 7th. They emailed me Monday with my VIN number but did say that it was going to be 3 or 4 weeks late. Now it's suppose to come in end of the month or early March.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to keep driving the FX35 loaner they gave me.

Stopped at the dealership today for an oil change and a trade-in estimate on my coupe. Got my VIN, but also got some disappointing news: the car is estimated to arrive on the week of 3/16... (originally promised end of February). On the other hand, that would push my pickup date further towards the end of winter, which means less chances of snow...

That sucks Daniel, however overall I think that is a good thing. In retrospect, I kinda wished I would of waited until spring to get my G. The less chances your G sees the snow with those summer tires the better.

I hear ya Shane.... Just looking at my salt-filthy coupe makes me realize it's a good thing....
