They plow all the roads, but when the visibility is basically zero, everything gets pulled off the roads. Also the wind gets so strong here off the lake we get very bad drifting along with visibility, so a road can be plowed and 4 hours later it's impassable again.
We have gotten used to it, it's been this way for the 30+ years I have lived here. Schools are generally shut a total of a couple weeks each year due to closed roads.

I live on a County road on the outskirts of town. This is what you can barely see in the middle of the road a couple hundred yards down the street from my house. It has been there since last night and will probably be there until it's supposed to clear tomorrow. But you know what, I still love living here, our beautiful beaches and fishing make up for it in the summer.

Awesome.
I used to live in Michigan - and we saw this every so often...
The ice storms were wicked - usually meant power outages for days at a time.

Memories are much less cold than the real thing!
