Dog legged 07 non-sport Gs

So after seeing a number of threads about LSDs, traction control, wheel slippage and traction performance on the non-sport 07 Gs. I thought I would give my experience and see if any one has had the same or different results.

2007 G35 with 1,750 miles on it

1 With the VDC on and in DS mode
From a dead stop, floored the car, back wheel slippage is felt then a sudden lose of acceleration. My assumption is that the power is being cut or brakes are being applied by VDC and there is a major bog in forward movement for 1 – 1.5 sec.

2. With the VDC off and in DS mode
From a dead stop, floored the car, back wheel slippage is felt but no cut in power. Wheel slippage continues but feels like it is coming from only one side of the car. The car accelerates hard while chirping the tire but no fishtailing or back end stepping out.

It seems to me that with the VDC off all of the power is being sent to 1 wheel. Coming from a modified 1997 Z28 Im very aware of the feeling of a locked LSD (positraction) and the 07 G non-sport did not have this feeling or misbehavior.

Let me know what you think?

I'm thinking your car doesn't have an LSD. But I suppose you already know that, so I'm not sure what you're asking.

A non sport model has an open rear-end, and an open rear-end will spin one tire or the other. So your observations are correct. Unless the non sport happens to be an x, but I haven't been able to spin any tires yet...even with VDC off...but I'll keep trying.

^+1 open diff. Even with LSD there will still be initial slippage on one wheel.
