I test drove the 07G too. Not hug difference to me in term of power. Yes, it's faster, but not by that much since stock 04 G35c 6MT can pull 14 sec flat in 1/4 mile. Mine is some what modded. Bottom line for me is, I like to mod, and it's much easier to make big power cheaply from a factory turbo car. That's the 335 main advantage for me.

I experienced the 335 a few times and found the lag to be on the minimal side, but it is there. Right at off-idle every time you take off. It's the nature of the beast.. lag. Some are worse than others but the lag still exists. Until those turbos can spin up to create boost.. they become a restriction in the exhaust and you get lag.
BMW did a good job with the 335 in the power dept. There is good potential for more power with FI. There are also downsides such as lag, engine bay heat, cost, complexity, fuel mileage..
There is no limited slip option on the 335.. A real blow to track performance. The bimmer also uses struts for the fornt suspension, not as sophisticated nor as good as the DW/SLA used on the G35. BMW does dial in the steering just right, it also felt a little tighter than the G.
I don't feel slighted in any area when driving the G.

I agree with you. But lag is still quite relative compare to the whole powerband. It's still a 3.0L I6 after all, so it can't be that bad. Especially when it hit almost peak torque @ 1400 rpm. Maybe that's why I didn't notice any lag. I'm aware of the extra complexity of turbo. But like any other method of gain power, either add complexity or add displacement. You have to pick one.

Personally, I'm happy w/ my G35c so it'd take a lot more than the 335 to make me change car. I'm just hoping that because BMW went w/ TT, Infiniti will follow and stick a detuned VQ37HR-TT in the G.

Also I agree that the interior dimensions are way way higher in the G then the 335I, get them side by side and sit in them both, youll feel it. You can actually use the back seat in the G.

Im not attacking you personally, I just dont think the 335 deserves as much praise as it has recieved. Also its not that much faster in real world driving. Yes with a chip you can make it way faster, but stock it isnt. And I wouldnt mess with a chip anyway when I promise the 335's will have widespread problems as is. Hey, its BMW. Get used to enterprise rent a cars.
lol not knocking infiniti cuz i love em and sell em...but i guess if i go with beemer ill just be used to there loaner cars, just like im used to infinitis g35x loaners. -=\
