Lo Jack or Mymobileguardian? Recommendations

Any reviews or opinions on what to get? and how much you paid?
My dealership recommended mymobileguardian (MMG), it seems more advanced, using GPS instead of radio frequency (Lojack). Also instead of waiting to find my car stolen before the system is alerted, MMG immediately alerts you if the alarm goes off via alpha page or email. The guy offered to install it for a one time deal of $795. Any experience with this system?

I just looked at their web site (http://www.mymobileguardian.com). Pretty interesting service. Even better that it's got no monthly fees. Seems like it's also good for parents who want to know where their kids are taking their cars, since you can login to their web site and see where your car is!

When I bought my 2007 G35S the finance manager at the dealership tried to sell me MMG as well as a number of other items such as clear bra, leather protection, and extended warranty. I believe the quoted price was around $800-900 for MMG. The price on all those items are negotiable just as the price of the car is. I ended up only getting extended warranty bacause I plan to give this car to my 10 year old son when he starts driving. With all the new technology and electronics in this car, the warranty will pay for itself with one failure. I ended up paying $1600 when they wanted $2800 for the warranty! I decided not to get the MMG at this time as this seems like a newer technology that will probably greatly improve in the next year or two and the price will likely drop. I might consider it again in the future.

Personally, I don't have a need for MMG, but it looks pretty good if you're concerned about either security, or if you want to monitor another driver while they're borrowing your car (e.g. kids?). I supposse it depends on where you live as well (I live in a safe area so I'm not worried about needing MMG). You may also want to check with your insurance company just to get an idea of how much you might save w/ MMG.

I currently have LoJack. With MMG, it is useless in parking garages because the signal is blocked and the antenna is mounted on the roof. With LoJack, the device is hidden in your car and works anywhere in the LoJack coverage area. There is no monthly charge for LoJack and I don't think there is one for MMG.

Go to the LoJack website for more info.
