From my experience, you should be able to copy any cd's to the HD regardless of if they are commercial, though it will not get track info.
As for the text tags, you can view them for any of the above by pressing the TEXT button on the screen.

Here is how I setup my MP3 CDs.
I make the tag just have song name.
Then I put the songs in folders by artist.
The screen then will have the Artist Name and directly below it the Song Name.
It also has great options for All CD Mix, 1 CD Mix, 1 Folder Mix, etc.
So I put similar genre bands on each MP3 CD. If I want to listen to just one band I do 1 Folder Mix. If I want to listen to the whole genre I do 1 CD Mix.
I love this car!!!

If you have 6 in Dash, you cannot have HD music box.

first, it checks the names on the cd, then it checks the names in gracenote. if no names on cd, and no gracenote on your car (or not in the gracenote library), no track names

I don't believe the folder nesting for the CF card works as advertised nor as it is shown in the manual. For me, it seems to only read the lowest level of folder on the card and doesn't seem to offer any "drill down" capability as the manual indicates it should offer. There have been a number of threads on this, I think others have seen this as well.
