so, out playing today in the snow... ABS stays with VDC... can you turn it off? also, it seemed to turn back on in very aggressive, out of control maneuvers.... is there a nanny mode? can i turn it off?

 

Unless there's a fuse for the ABS, it's always on.

 

The press release said that VDC is completely turned off by the switch and only comes back on while you're applying the brake.

 

hit the brakes and it comes back on? that is pointless... can't be right

 

VDC and ABS are two completely different systems. To disable ABS there are a few things you can do, but I wouldn't recomend any of them!

Some people unplug harnesses, some people pull fuses, some people install toggle switches on certain wires.

 

Why is that pointless?

That means as soon as you finish braking VDC leaves you alone again.
