Hey G fans

Yes, even in February, it still gets warm in Southern California.

I need a sunshade for the front window to keep everything inside cool. Has anyone purchased one yet? If so, where/what did you get? Does the sunshade on www.infiniti-parts.com fit the new 2007 model? Here is the link:

I could always walk into a chain auto parts store and buy one, but they never fit correctly. I want something that is designed to fit our window.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Some of us actually like to SEE when we're driving... lol.

Try Amazon - it says 07... but who knows.

Hey everybody. I've been lurking in this forum and over at freshalloy for a while. This post gave me a reason to register. I was looking for the same thing as I will be moving back to AZ in about a month. The sooner you start using a sunshade, the less punishment your dash is going to take! Anyway, after doing a search on this forum as well as freshalloy, I found a post that talked about this place: http://www.autosunshields.com/
Their product looks like to could be pretty good since it's custom fit and looks like they fit close to the window. I contacted them since they didn't list a product for the 07 sedan. They had me make templates based on my car and send them in. I should be getting the sunshades this week and will post pictures.

You should have charged them - or get some free shades for your time...

I did a little research myself.

www.infiniti-parts.com emailed me back and told me that the sunshade posted on their website will not work correctly for the 2007 G35 Sedan. They expect to update their website soon with that information, then make a new listing once they get the new sunshades in for the 2007 G35 Sedan. I will keep everyone updated when the salesman emails me information.

And hey, if you dont like the weather, move.

In addition, can you let us know who you emailed, what those dimensions are (of your front window), and how much you payed. I would not mind spending a few extra bucks for a custom fitting sunshade if I knew it would work right...I hate those cheap ones from the store that always break down and leave large gaps to let the sunlight in.

Any information you can post is great, especially pics and how you like the product.

Thanks

Canvasworks.com makes the Heatshield, the one that they sell on Amazon. Do you have the new one for the 2007 G35 Sedan? How does it fit?

Thanks for the info!

I don't have a G (yet) but it fits well in my Acura. Its pretty much custom for every windshield. The only problem is that after a while it loses some of its stiffness and tends to sag away from the windshield. I easily fixed that by taping a couple of wooden dowels on the back to stiffen it up.

Unless it's custom fitted (too new & probably expensive for my G) for that particular vehicle model, most off the shelf sunshades will not fit well 'cause they all come in rectangular shape while all car windshields take the general shape of a trapezoid. Worst yet some even have a curvelinear bottom throwing things further out of line.

I actually found one of the shades by these folks @ Pepboys (the Jumbo Altus Platinum model on pg 31 #0-19912-53234-9) fits my G fairly well enough to serve the purpose of covering up almost the entire dash without too much of a misfit, that is with the last fold @ both ends of the shade stay unfolded. I either don't recall finding the Standard size of this same model or it's too short to cover the height of the windshield for me to go for the Jumbo instead.

You can simply drive your G to Pepboys, find & check out the shade, try it out on your G in their parking lot before return for refund if you don't like the way it fits.

Good luck.
