Interior aluminum color

Anyone notice that the aluminum color of the piece on the door is different then the piece on the dash? One is more silver in color then the other.

I've heard that from other posts. Some owners have noticed a slightly "yellower" tint than others (probably a lot to lot variation). I think I got lucky that mine seem to be matched all over.

Yes, I've noticed this Dave. The aluminum piece above my glovebox has a very slight yellow tinge to it compared to the aluminum piece beside it on the door. Most people probably wouldn't notice it, but I can.

No, unfortunately not. It's the actual color of the aluminum.

Exactly! That is what I'm seeing. I thought as first it was the angle I was looking at it but you can see the yellow tinge on the piece above the glovebox.

Differences in shade/color of aluminum?

This was my post in another earlier forum. No one commented or responded. I've got a new 2007 6MT reaching port on the west coast this week - I'm hoping it has aluminum color and not yellow-ish color trim.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've noticed in pictures and in person that the aluminum seems to vary in color. In some cars it is yellow-ish in appearance; in others it is more of a true aluminum color. I don't like the yellow. I suspect Infiniti uses different vendors or maybe it's different manufacturing lots. Anyone else noticed this?

Noted above picture - that looks aluminum color, the car I test drove was more yellow-ish, but one I saw in the showroom previously was like the picture above.

No yellow aluminum here. They match.

Dave, I wonder if it has anything to do with some of the earlier build dates like ours? It's not an overly huge deal to me, but at the same time it would be nice if they matched perfectly too.

You might be right Chuck, I know my car was built in Aug '06 so it is a very early build.

I tried taking a couple of pictures. The pictures make it look worse then it really is but you get the idea.

Chuck.....Canuck.....close enough I guess.

My build date was Sept 6th, so still pretty early. It seems like the guys just getting their G now isn't succeptible to this mismatch in color.
