G35 Sedan Base - upgrades?

Hi all. Last week I ordered the Base, trying to stay on budget. As my fellow Canucks will know, the optioning packages/models here in Canada don't allow for relatively small incremental price increases for packages/models as they do in the U.S. No 'Journey' version for +$450 for some nice touches; no wheel/sunroof pkg for +$1,400.

So now of course I'm looking at all the pics/threads and wondering about upgrades. (Just realized I didn't even listen to the base sound system I was so engaged by the drive ).

I'd appreciate thoughts from anyone who has looked at upgrading the base with respect to 'basic' things like wheels/tires (18's or better?), sound system (how is the base version anyway?), heck, even those missing the homelink/mirror/compass system (got it on my current Maxima and will miss it I'm sure).

Thanks!

We didn't get the base, but I can tell you that the wheels aren't amazing, but aren't horrible. They're practical I guess. It's the only option for the "X" that we got, however we will leave them on in the winter and maybe but some 18"s or 19"s on in the summer.

Thanks C144. Likely better to go with them thru winter anyway.

Did you check dealer parts dept (was it Guelph?) for upgrade/upsize wheels?

By the way, what tires came with the X. RSA's?

Here is the config you need:

Premium + NAV

I'd throw in Sport as well, but that's optional....

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Of course when it's all said and done, you're probably right! It's likely gonna cost me more than if I'd just gone for the up packages to begin with!

(oh well...at least we do get the bun warmers up here as part of the base)

No, didn't check the dealer parts dept. And yeah, it was Guelph. In the summer, we might, but probably won't drive an 1hr just to get to Guelph for rims! We'll probably just go to a local dealer.
