Simply Email 5 Internet Fleet Managers at the closest dealerships in your area...tell them exactly what you want....they will reply with a quote (they will be reasonable for the most part and arent "floor salesmen" (poop). Email the guy/gal who gave you the second best deal and make them aware of the first best deal....ask them to beat it by any given amount of money. I did this with my new '07 and am extremely confident I got the best deal possible.
If you could save $1000 by flying to some other state to pick up your car, why not? Plus, it would give you a chance to bond with your new car on the drive back home. of course, if it's only a couple hundred cheaper to get one far away, it does not make sense.

you can just call the dealership and asked to be transferred to the internet fleet manager. or you can go to a site like edmunds.com or carsdirect.com and ask for a quote from the dealerships in your area. then haggle via email from there...and yes Ive never heard a fleet manager say hmmm hang on lemme talk to the boss and see if I can get you the price you want...

but the main reason I go through email is because the fleet manager assumes you are shopping around and probably emailing other dealers so they are going to present you with almost their best price before you decide to go with another dealer...also dealerships tend to value their time and any time they can get someone in and out, they're happy. if you spend a couple hours with joe salesman, thats means your taking away time from his day and he may have made another sale so he is going to squeeze everything he can out of you

Negotiating with fleet managers isn't that much of an advantage. A lot of the time, they'll quote you a price via email to entice you to come down to the dealership. Back when I was shopping around, the fleet manager at Santa Monica Infiniti quoted me a great price for a car they had on their lot. Of course when I went to the dealership the car I wanted wasn't on any of their lots and added a $1600 destination fee to the OTD price he initially quoted me. Those guys are d-bags. If you any of you potential G buyers go down there, try and avoid dealing with Justin. Or was it Kevin? I forget his name. He's the young black sales rep. Fvking dumba ss.
I actually had my gf take me to pick up my G in Santa Monica in fact....the deal was exactly what she told me it would be over the phone and via email...I changed my mind at the last minute so the car wasnt on the lot...my gf had to leave but we had a deal locked in so I went to the irish pub on Santa Monica Blvrd, got smashed, sobered up and by the time I walked back it was there....it was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Ive dealt with Fleet Managers many times as well as floor sales reps and have only had bad experiences with them, not the fleet reps....anyway to each his own
