Wink

Just remember to reactivate it at the end of the trial period. They don't automaticly continue after the 3 months are up. I was driving along FD&H this Saturday when everything suddenly reverted to channel 1. Low and behold, my 3 month trial was up. Had to reactivate the unit even though this is an add on to an existing account. They told me that they have more trouble the other way when customers come back at them and say they don't want the service after the fact.

When you call XM tell them you just bought the car and would like to activate and get the 3 month trial for XM radio and 3 month trial for XM Traffic (if you have Navigation) it takes about 10 minutes to setup your account and within 20 minutes your radio will be active.. you need to keep the radio on the whole 20 minutes to receive the activate signal.

There is no charge to activate, and you don't even need to give your credit card to activate it... if they ask for a credit card just say that you want to have the trial first and if you like it you'll call back and then add your credit card to continue service.

Correct, this is exactly what she did. However, she said the activation had been sent out previously (in January). My guess is someone didn't leave the car on long enough or something to let it finish receiving the signal. She said it therefore goes from that date though... I didn't feel like arguing about it last night, maybe I will call back another time.

Makes sense now, I get it, but yes, if you call them up they should start you off with 3 months from the date of activation. How could they activated it when the car wasn't purchased. Ask them the name that it was activated under, because there has to be an account in order to activate the service and it certainly wasn't your account if you hadn't created one.

That my man, is a GREAT point!! I dont know... I wonder if they used it as a demo on the lot or something?? Someone obviously drove the car, it had 171 miles on it and there was a phone setup to the Bluetooth. Of course some of those miles were in getting the car to the dealership the night I bought it from another... who knows!!
