XM Trial Period.

Did you guys have to call and have your trial period of XM Radio/Nav activated? I didnt even know I was supposed to have it until I got a letter in the mail. So, I called and they activated it, but I have lost over a month of my free trial

Anyone else have this problem?

You'll get three months from the day of your activation.

My dealer activated it for me when I picked up the car - it was part of the process.

I called in myself the next day. I even did it from within my car via Bluetooth (was stuck in traffic anyway). I never had to give them any credit card info. When the invoice came just weeks before the expiration, I just ignored it, and it was automatically deactivated.

As a matter of fact, you should get free ACTIVATION AND 3 free months. You can call XM radio and they should credit your account. It's on your window sticker if you still have it.

XM # is:

800-XM-RADIO (800-967-2346)

Yeah, apparently it had been activated back in January, 2+ weeks before I even bought the car. It didnt fully activate though, it was only getting channel 1, 147, and something else (the emergency broadcast channel I think). So, she resent the signal and now I get all the chanells, BUT, she told me my trial still runs out April 13 =(.

On a side note, the XM sounds great compared to my MP3 player hooked up through the Aux Inputs!

That's not activated, they all get channel 0,1,147,247. those are the demo channels to test signal, it's preview channels, they just keep telling you to sign up now. Just like how DirecTV has channel 100 to test your signal.

When you call XM tell them you just bought the car and would like to activate and get the 3 month trial for XM radio and 3 month trial for XM Traffic (if you have Navigation) it takes about 10 minutes to setup your account and within 20 minutes your radio will be active.. you need to keep the radio on the whole 20 minutes to receive the activate signal.

There is no charge to activate, and you don't even need to give your credit card to activate it... if they ask for a credit card just say that you want to have the trial first and if you like it you'll call back and then add your credit card to continue service.
