Well take that with a grain of salt as well. My friend could tell me that the 08 will come with a 10 speed auto, but that doesn't mean anything. No one knows what changes will be made to the 08 MY. Heck, no one even knows anything about the 08 Coupe being unveiled in 3 weeks.

After driving the Journey and the Sport, I in all honesty do not notice any difference in handling in the twisties at all. Other the the firmer more contoured seats with the sport, they both seem in my opionion to ride the same.

Well, I can say without a doubt that after owning both a 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT, and driving the 07 G35 Sedan (Both Sport And Journey). It's certainly not amazing in the handling department, the problem I have though is that I came out of a 2500 lb Mini Cooper S with a highly modified suspension, into a car that weighed 1k lbs more, and was designed with luxury in mind in addition to being sporty. I've since moved back into another Mini Cooper S, and love it :-). I know where Josh is coming from with the stiffness, I've driven in his car, and I think part of the problem with suspension stiffness is that it's hard to tell by simply driving the cars for a few minutes. His car has Quattro, 18 inch rims, etc, all of which affect handling and ride feeling.

Hey to all the people that actually remember me, I haven't posted here in forever .

Yea, i'd imagine, any heavy cars gonna benefit a lot from stiffer x-bracing.

I've got the journey package and I can't see where the floaty comment came from. I've took it through the twisties quite a few times and it handles excellante.

I guess if you're used to a skateboard, anything that actually has some suspension travel gets called "floaty".

i dont know about the journey or the base, but the sport is not floaty at all, compared to other stock cars. my a4 was lowered and the c/o's were set to the stiffest, but sometimes i feel like the g stock sport g can handle as well as my a4. i miss feeling the road at times. as for the gas mileage, its better than the a4 (mine atleast, was a DAWG!!! like 15mpg in traffic). i, too , considered an s4 witht he v8 and im glad i didnt get it. the g is less money, MUCH more room, more reliable, holds its value, still looks good and its pretty quick.

i havent heard much about the 08 tho....

Hey what's up? It's good to hear your input. You had a 3.0 right? I think i'm going to go with the G. Just need to see if I want to wait it out for the '08.

BTW I took the floaty part out, I guess I just meant is the sport stiffer.

Yep, 36% stiffer than the 03 to be exact.

And as far as the 07 models are concerned, the 07 Sport has firmer springs than the Journey or the X.

I recently traded in my Z06 and mini cooper S for a G35 S.
I miss the mini's handling and quick steering ratio for sure.
But I can't say I miss all the rattles, skate board suspension and herky jerky throttle response. I really miss the Z06... but it was under utilized to justify keeping it.
The G35 is a luxury car first, hard to call it a sports car. It is quite capable in power and handling... but its heavy and not exactly nimble.. Still it offers a good combination of power and handling for everyday driving fun.

170hp isn't it? I had an '03 for a year, it was totaled so now I got my '04 3.0. Anyway are you talking about the '08 coupe or sedan? I'm waiting for info on the '08 sedan.
