should i install mods myself?

I am seriously considering installing all mods myself. I really don't have any experience when it comes to installing car parts. It's not about the money, it's just that I'd like to work on my own car and experience that feeling of doing it yourself. My first mod is going to be H&R sport springs. Future mods will include exhaust, dual cai, plenum and mrev when they're released...What do you all think? Would a noob in installing car parts be capable?

Yes. I basically took the same approach and installed all of my mods myself (with the exception of the chin spoiler). You can leverage on the expertise of people on this site.

You will learn a lot, have fun, and feel really good about doing something yourself. Not to mention the money you will save for more mods. Most of the time you will treat your car better than someone else will anyway.

installing your own mods feels so much better knowing u did it yourself. and its pretty fun but could get frustrating at times

What "WE" think is irrelevant. The question here isn't our opinion but your own skills. As long as your willing to get down and dirty (and are willing to invest in the necessary tools, shop manuals and patience) then I say go for it. You do the work yourself and gain more and more knowhow each time.

In fact, look at it as the best way to build cameraderie with other G drivers. Every once in a while, some of your local G drivers can spend a Sat or Sun just hanging out learning more about these superb automobiles and the superb men and women that are so blessed to drive them.

Oh btw, just make sure that everything goes smoothly....make sure to give wifey the credit cards so that she can spend the day shopping and out of harm's way....

don't you need a machine to compress the shock for the spring install?

Auto zone.. rent a tool.

YEs you should ALWAYS install aftermarket component yourself. It is safer and people don't know what you have on your car to rob you.

I would do the install except for the springs..If you haven't done them
get someone to help who has. Just a safety issue

2nd, springs are rather tricky if its your first time AND if youre alone. im sure a few people here wouldnt mind helping for a pack of beer and some pizza. id try to do as much possible by myself. exhuast might be difficult if welding is involved (i tend to go custom) but the rest, springs/struts, brakes, sway bars, camber kits, select body parts (like fitting them in before painting), cia, turbo/ s/c, etc id do myself.
