My letter to INFINITI.

AFTER READING ALL THESE POSTS SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT PLEASE DONT READ IF YOU DONT HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR AND CAN GET OFFENDED...
IM MAILING THIS OUT TODAY..

Dear Mr Infiniti Man,

Hello there i am a proud owner of a 2007 G35 S. I love everything that has been redesigned and changed. This vehicle is a huge step forward for the Nissan Motor Co. However there are a few discreptencies that i think you should be aware of. I have been reading other peoples experiences with this new gen and i think it is imperative that we get the following items addressed. First and foremost the Nav screen getting locked out during motion is ridiculous. Why not blank out the whole screen and all of its functions? Who desides that i can check previous destinations, check a bunch of other things like fuel epa, even burn music while i am driving to the hard drive etc etc but i am not aloud to find a POI?? Who decided for me from factory that i can monitor the Nav screen for instructions and monitor where i will have to be turning but i cant monitor the screen for personal preferences from the RCA jacks??

Also why dont the heated seats work properly? If this is not a standard option then it should have been checked more closely. Its kind of like if you buy the tech package but the rear view camera is pointed to much at an angle and defeats the purpose of the whole system....does'nt somebody check these things out before they get mass produced? If you find the problem early does'nt it save you lots of money and time as opposed to having customers report these things. Same problem with the front grill. I pay all this money and i get on the highway and the tiniest little pebble leaves a ding on my brand new smoked out INFINITI grill. In which it should have been tested before manufacturing.

Amongst other things like the CFC card reader and harddrive. I think you should have put alittle more thought into this whole idea. Why not be able to burn from the CFC card? Why no song titles? How come i cant scroll thru things while driving? I think a little more brainstorming between Fujiko and Hamoto would have been better. Also give those guys at Bose a call and tell them that the SOW was great but did'nt live up to its hype. We need more menus on the sound adjustments. I also feel like all the sound is coming from the driver and passenger doors. I always have it bumped a notch towards the rear sound field quadrant.

All in All i give this product an A-.

We love this car. But we need solutions and answers to all our whining and complaining. Thank you

Yours Truly,

UltimateGEE27

I'm not going to beat you up about grammar, etc. Kudos to you for taking the time to write it. However, I wouldn't have started out with Dear Mr. Infiniti Man...

Are you sure? Try turning on your passenger seat warmer, and you'll see that it only heats up one or the other... unless they discovered the problem and already fixed it for later-produced models.

Good job on the letter. You shouldn't have given them an A+, because they'll think that you're already happy with your car, and won't take you seriously.

Speaking of poorly written material, have a look (below) at this from the Infiniti Canada website, from the G35 Sedan 'Features' page, 'Comfort And Convenience' section:

Based on their grammar and how they wrote the section, one could certainly deduce that only the driver's seat is heated!

Maybe they knew well before we all did about the heated seat problem on the passenger side!

LOL

--------------
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE

Leather-appointed, heated 8-way power driver's seat with adjustable lumbar support and 4-way power passenger's seat
Washi-finish aluminum interior trim, leather-appointed and aluminum shift ****
Leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel

Is the passenger seat really only 4-way?

infinit is actually addressing both issues for the new G sedan already.. the seat warmers and navi....

and +100.. i couldnt possibly give someone an A+ with these issues or any issues.. you have to take away some points for it.. A- Max.. but A's shouldnt be that easy to get.. this isnt High School!... hahah JK. maybe a best of 10 rating score?

Yup, in Canada it's only 4-way for the passenger side in the base model. We don't have the 'Journey' option up here that just takes it up that nice little notch for relatively small bucks.

The web site section I showed was for what is 'standard on every G35' (before option packages of course) at least in Canada.

Well - at least here we get heated seats as standard (both of them in theory ) in the base model, if nothing else.

Hmmm .... I heard some rumor about the heated seat "fix"

But this is the first time I am hearing about a Navi "fix" (by which I assume you mean the Navi functions that are greyed out while driving)
Can you give more details on this Navi fix ?? Like what it is and possible dates when its going to be available ??

thanks
