To those with 07, wheres your child seat?

My boy is almost 2 now and after having had the car for a month, I saw that the head rest was all but trashed from the top strap compressing it. Inifiniti dropped the ball on not including an adjustable headrest, but thats not the point of this thread.
I put the seat on to the middle position as there is a third, yet slightly off center top latch that the strap has no interference from a head rest. The middle latch provides slightly less movement than the sides as there is no squishy head rest to compress even more.
What did you all do and why?
Chris

Chris, I put my car seat on the passenger side of the back seat. I was hoping to put it in the middle, but couldn't really see a way to put it there securely. Right now I have mine secured there by the lower latches within the seats and there is no movement at all. I'll definitely have another look at putting it in the middle since that is my preference.

I see where you're coming from. If its like it is here in the US, the rear facing doesn't have any top latch. Only when a year comes around and they go forward do we have to use the top latch.
Is it only Shane and I that have kids/toddlers?

Ahhh, I completely missed the part of your thread Chris that stated your boy was 2........that explains how you were able to put your car seat in the middle (being front facing). I plan on having another look over the weekend, but I think I will be stuck placing my daughter's seat over to one side.

I installed the car seat behind the passenger seat in both my cars. Couldn't us the LATCH attachements in the center position (as recomended by the manufacturer)
Canuck: what seat did you get for the baby. Is it an infant seat or a convertible seat. I used the Peg-Perego when my kid was a newborn and it had instructions on how to use the LATCH properlly while using the rear facing seat.

I became an expert on child seats when I bought my kid's. The one you got looks like a infant seat with a detachable base. If that is the case you should be able to use the LATCH straps while the seat is on rear facing mode.
BTW for the first couple of months i was using both the LATCH and the seat belt. Double restraint

I have a 2yr1mo old girl and another girl due in 10 days. I found that the two latches closest to either door do not work normally, you have to reverse the latch. it seems the latch hooks are too close to the one part of the seat, no matter how hard you push it just won't connect, so I had to turn it around which makes it harder to press button to release the latch, seems like a minor defect in where they positioned the latch hooks on the car. The hooks are also really sunk back in the seat, it was quite difficult when compared to my Altima, Jeep and Audi.
Did anyone else notice you can't latch onto the hooks normally?
I have the Britax Boulevard for the toddler & the Peg-Perego infant seat with the base system for the soon-to-be-born. I haven't tried the infant seat yet.
If you only have 1 child it's recommended for safety to put them in the middle for all ages, since it's the furthest distance from any impact.

I didn't have any problems putting them on the side hook wise, just the head restraint on the car. I can see what you're talking about though, it is sunk deep into the pads, but it has been like most of my cars (Subaru).
My wifes Explorer's hooks were designed properly and work great. Easy to get to, easy to install. Afterall, it is a people mover.

CFar: Going of topic. I'm a Subaru freak and i get some remorse when I think of not getting an LGT and buying a G. Did you consider getting an LGT?
My mom's Forester has the most accesible LATCH hooks I've ever used.(Besides rented Sienna)

I haven't been able to find the perfect car for me, until hopefully now with the G

Anyway, I had an 04 WRX Wagon, 05 LGT, and 06 STi.
All of which were very practical, and frankly, each of those cars was just fine, not me though.
Anyway, the LGT was awesome. Everything together in the car was probably almost as good as the G. Quality of the pieces was good, midrange power was good, but the car itself just wans't all that fun, and it was only a 5spd. A weak one from historys standpoint.
Anyway, good car, but I think the G just is that much better.
