Does everyone think the new G is fast?

From a report I saw in the new Consumer reports, BTW the '07 G35 rated best upscale sedan, they listed their fastest 5 cars tested. A Subaru took 5th on a short list including a Viper, Corvette, and a Lotus with a 0-60 time of in 5.2. The G35 has been tested that fast in many reports. The Corvette tested at 5.0 seconds I know that's not the Z06 (I believe it's called). Is the stock Corvette fast? 0-60 is a test for quickness. Fast is top end and it's governed so who knows.
I've owned many sports cars that were slower than this car -including 3 Porsches, and a 300Z. They would all be beaten by the 07 G sedan and so would many muscle cars rolling around the block. It's a sleeper. No one would expect a sedan to be this fast if they did not know better. I really only found out after I bought it and was shocked.
I've seen many modified G Coupe's quote 1/4 mile times in the mid 14's and the G sedan is quoted in the mid 13's to as high as 13.9. Because of all the fast and the furious movies people that don't know think a 10 second quarter is common place. 10 seconds is blazing fast by street car standards and 13.5 is very quick as well. So yes, I think it's fast.
The rolling start is a bit of a dog though. Second gear kicks in too quickly and because the G lacks Torque you start in too low of a gear to accelerate quickly. Just an observation, I don't race.

Coming from a Mitsu Eclipse pushing 18psi and a moderately modified 97 Z28. My 07 G35 does not feel as fast to me as it may to others. However, the G does have some decent pulling power but it does it with much more comfort and refinement than my older cars. I also have a FX 35 which feels very slow when compared to the G.

Having owed an 06 STI, I may have driven the faster car I will ever own. But, the STi is a true race car, no frills, 3300lb *** whoop'en, ruff riding car. I liked the STi, but I love the G sedan. There are very few cars that can match the STi performace, but that performace comes with a price. I love the smothness of the G and an much happier with the G. IMO, the best all around sedan on the market.
