I have the 5AT on a AWD. It's *quite* adequate.

I should note, that when in full auto mode, it does seem slow (almost gentle) to downshift to pass.

I usually leave it in DS or MM for throttle rocket driving... But that's just me

G AT needs an OD or 6th gear!

>3K at 70mph is a waste. Needs OD or 6th gear.

6MT here.. I voted "not happy", but that's because I had higher hopes for this car. I still prefer the 6MT to the automatic, so I'm not regretting the choice, but the whole drivetrain is rough compared to the last 4 manual transmission cars I've had, including a much lower-priced Miata.

To be fair, I don't think it's the transmission itself, but the engine that seems to be rough at high RPM and that transmits through the direct linkage in the stick and the clutch.

lol, yea, maybe it's all perspective. i came from a wrx being my last daily driver, and that thing had the worst manual tranny EVAR. so i voted happy, b/c the g 6spd is soooo much better than what the wrx had!

For 2007 model year, only sport models come with the paddle shifters, and all sport models are RWD. Why not get a sport instead of the AWD?

Good idea, But I was thinking the AWD would be a good car for the winter months... I rather have AWD safety then paddle shifters in the long run... The regular floor shifter should be fine I guess

There is a summary.

At 70mph
AT spins at 3,000 rpm
MT spins at 2,800 rpm

Put it another way

AT at 3,000 rpm goes 70mph
MT at 3,000 rpm goes 80mph

Not a lot of difference then...
