Cleaning the screen

Well boys: we have a touch screen and it's DIRTY!

What do you recommend? Do you think a damp (with water) microfiber towel will do the trick? Obviously I'm not gonna use anything abrasive, but I don't want the fingerprint to get smeared with something ineffective either...

Daniel, I use my cleaner that I use for the window tint. It is safe to use on plastics, etc.

I've heard that a mixture of 1 or 2 parts distilled water to 1 part isopropyl alcohol makes for a good LCD screen cleaner. Use it to moisten a lint-free cloth and wipe the screen. For what it's worth, Apple recommends this stuff for their LCDs...

I just use a damp cloth though. The klearscreen guys seem mighty proud of their spray.

I try to avoid touching the screen at all cost, but sometimes, using the touch-screen QWERTY keyboard is so much faster. I have a small microfiber towel I keep inside the car, for wiping fingerprints (works well), dusting the dashboard, sweeping bits of crap off the center console/shift area, and comes in handy for my eyeglasses, too!

For dust I had been using this pack of dust wipes my wife started using in her car. I dont know what brand they are but they are pretty nice to keep stashed in the door pocket and dust the inside/screen once in a while. Not a great job on the screen though I will try that screen cleaner.

I wear eye glasses for when I drive at night that came with a soft cloth to clean/dust the lenses. I just use that and it works great.

Never use an alcohol based cleaner on an LCD, that is a very bad idea as it will eat away at the screen.

It's called Monster ScreenClean and I use it too, it works great. It's very gentle and alcohol free and though it is a little expensive, a bottle will last a long time if you use just one or two pumps directly onto the microfiber cloth. It should be available anywhere that sells Monster products.

I use a high quality microfiber cloth. I try not to use the touch screen since I can't stand fingerprints

When you get it, let us know how accurate the fit is for our 07 Nav screen.

Just want to know if it is cut correctly.

hothothot -- maybe you can answer the fit question since you have it already !
