What is it?

Upon delivery, there was a plastic bag in the trunk that included the 6-disc magazine, and a square piece of plastic that looks like its a cover for something. Anybody know what this is used for?

Hopefully, it's not a piece of the engine.

Thanks in advance.

My car had the CD magazine and the front license plate mount.

I believe it is the cover for the screw in hook located in the black grill below the chrome grill. If it is 2" x 2" with a crosshatch pattern, that is where it goes.

Yes, it is roughly 2x2" with a crosshatch pattern. I'll have a look. Maybe they just didn't install into the place you mentioned, as part of the pre-delivery inspection.

Yup. That's the piece the dealer took out for the mounting bracket.

Yup - its the front license plate bracket .....

You are lucky to have it in the trunk (rather than getting it drilled and mounted - ouch !)

I mean the magazine is what holds your 6 CDs .... I still have it all wrapped up .... I don't see a need for it (yet) given the CF card and the HD.

max2k1,

We're not talking about the license plate bracket or the cd magazine. Rather its a small piece of plastic roughly 2x2" with a crosshatch pattern imprinted on it. As the poster above mentioned, it's supposed to go into the black grill in front somewhere.

Oh BTW, that license plate bracket you mentioned, did have 2 holes drilled into my bumper. But here in VA, its the law.

Oh Ok -- btw, the CD magazine comment was a response to SPEEED's question.

btw, can you post a picture of this 2x2 part that you are talking about ??

I did have a plastic bag in the trunk cargo net -- but as far as I could see it had the license plate bracket in it.
