How accurate is your temp gauge

Sometimes I think it's fairly accurate, but a few times it was a sauna and it tells me it's 69 degrees

Presumably you mean your climate control temp (not engine temp - 69 would be a bit surprising... )

I find that if the sun is shining on me at an angle, but missing the temp sensor (e.g. heading into a low sun), it can get hot. But otherwise works great.

Seems pretty accurate to me... I've tested it against our M's temp gauge - Oh. That's not too helpful, is it. LOL.
Actually, I have a small remote weather station and it's +/- 3.3627 degrees F.

Mine appears real accurate, except on the occasional case when it was up to 15 degrees low (and a reset fixed it).

It takes a few minutes of driving before the temp control calibrates itself.

Front of dash (closest to the windshield) - can't remember if it's the one on the left or right tho. One is the auto headlight sensor, the other is climate control.

Think there may be another one in the dash facing the cabin, but can't remember, sorry.

I've found that you need to keep the A/C on, even when it's in the 40's with a strong sun. the body heat and sun heat make the inside a few degree's above temp, so it needs the A/C to cool off the cabin.

The sensor on the dash measures the amount of sunlight coming into the car, and raises the output of the cool air in the cabin to compensate for the radiation you feel on your skin.

I believe your question was for the exterior temperature sensor. I haven't crawled around to look yet, but I would assume that it is right behind the front fascia, in the lower grille area.

The outside Temp Sensor is in front of the radiator to the upper right (driver's side) of the power steering cooler. Had car apart the other day and there it was....

The first day I got my G it was telling me the temp was around 20c which is defiantly not correct, but after the first day it seems to have adjusted itself and now gives me reasonably accurate temps

no issue here. Works as a charm. Sure at the start gives you couple of degrees higher/lower. After several minutes it comes to the realatively accurate temperature.

yeah at speed I've noted it to be very accurate... when you first turn on the car (mine is blue) its usually on the high side.
