Steering Wheel Source and Aux

I just picked up my G35x with premium package. According to the Quick Start manual, you are able to hit the Source button on the steering wheel and scroll to Aux (my iPod is connected) and it's not working. It only scrolls through preset's 1-3. When I am on AUX and I hit source, it scrolls back to the radio. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

your hitting the 'source button' and not using the 'up/down/enter toggle button thingy'?!?!?

Does it work if you use the disc/aux button on the dash to switch to your iPod connected via the Aux Inputs?

Yes. It works when I hit the Aux button on the dashboard, but not when I hit source on the steering wheel. It's simply just going through the Radio preset's A,B,C and that's it. very strange.

Oops - apparently I lied. Tested it this morning, and Source only scrolls through radio presets, CD (I have CDs in), and does not go to Aux. This is actually a bit odd, since at the time the Aux in was getting a signal from my iPod.

So then the manual is incorrect? According to the Quick Start guide, it says you can scroll through Radio, CD, and Aux.

interesting- I guess I have never tried it. I may do so at lunch though. I usually use the button on the dash. I forget about 80% of the cool stuff we have

It's even more interesting that in the manual it says it works like that. I wonder if it works for the Navigation folks? I don't have the Navigation system.

I have the nav system and i haven't been able to figure out how to get it to switch to Aux via the steering wheel controls.
it's sorta annoying since i switch between radio and my ipod all the time.

Sounds like we have a bug. Do you guys think Infiniti would do a recall for something like this? My guess is no since it's not a safety issue.

The way I think I remember it working for me is once I select Aux from the dash, then I can cycle through using the source button.

Not a recall, but maybe a TSB. Even that is highly unlikely, I think they're more likely to put out an errata for the manual.

IIRC when I first got the car, it only went through presets 1-3. Then when I first popped in a CD, it added CD to the list. Then finally when I ripped music to the music box, it then included AUX, Music Box, and CompactFlash. I'll check again in the morning to be sure. I def know that it added CD, CF, and MB....not positive about AUX, but I think it did.

I checked and I was wrong. While I was right that after using CD & MB, it added those to the list. It didnt add CF & AUX. Altho I havent used the CF slot since getting the car yet, so that could be a reason why.
