No audio file in Compact Flash

I am new to MP3 and Compact Flash. As much as I love the Music Box I think the audio system is good enough to distinguish between it and an audio CD. So I have decided to use the flash and rip at 256Kbps.
I went to Frye's Electronics and asked for a compact flash card and they sold me Seagate 4.0 GB CompactFlash Photo Hard Drive for $49. I then used Windows Media Player to rip a CD to my hard drive, file extension mp3 and then moved them to my flash card attached to the USB. I put it in the Compact Flash slot and the message on my screen is No Audio File.
Did I get the wrong card? Does Windows Media Player not work? Thanks for any help.

Actually, I have a number of MP3s encoded at 256kbps on my CF card and they play fine.....you just can't fit as many of them on your CF card as course.

OP, are you certain they are MP3 and not WMA?

I tried MP3 at 192 and it worked. Thanks. I picked Windows Media Audio (I assume this is WMA) and the maximum bitrate available was 192. Is it possible to rip at 256? Do I need another program?

FYI, the Studio on Wheels Demo MP3s that were linked for download in some thread a few months ago are encoded at 320bps and they play just fine from a data-CD in the dash-mount player.

Also make sure they are not DRM protected.

I thought that was it
WMAs of 256bit are not supported by the G35
Sounds like you will need another program to make higher quality mp3s
